NCAA09 PS3 BP Online Dynasty

An update... buckeyemania11 didn't get his replacement modem and he has no idea when he will be back online. He actually suggested that we just drop him from the league.

What shall we do guys? The one reason I won't make a "commish ruling" is because I am scheduled to play his team this week.

We have a few options:
1) I can put him on autopilot (I play vs CPU) and when he comes back he comes back

2) Drop him from the league and look for a replacement.

3) Put him on autopilot, but announce we need a replacement player. Then it is a race, if buckeyemania11 gets his modem before we find a replacement player nothing changes, or if we find a replacement player then we drop bm11 and the replacement player picks up whatever week we are in.

4) Something I didn't think of

#1 until we get closer to the bowl season. Then make it a race to see who, if anyone, can get in before the start of season two.

You'll most likely end up playing a second human player against ECU for the Conf USA championship anyway, so no big deal about losing a human opponent.

Never fails... within 30 minutes of posting that buckeyemania11 gave me some good news... for shits and giggles he plugged in his 'broken' modem and it worked???

So we are going to try to play our game tonight, and then I will let him set up his recruiting as I am sure he will have to fix what the computer did.

My goal if everything goes right is to advance the week tomorrow morning before I go to work (6am)

And if his modem doesn't work... we will go with Option #1 (unless anyone objects). And I will play the game tonight and advance tonight. I just didn't want to make the call myself since he was set to play me.

Keep in mind that Week 4 will also be a little slow since WOOD won't be back til Sunday to play msj. So hopefully we will pick up the pace next week as we get back into playing more cpu games.

Air Force got freaking throttled by Houston, oh my how slow my team is compared to just a lowly 70+ ranked team... I dont remember my score... 69-24 or something? They knocked out my impact for QB in the first for the game, my starting RB and impact SS in the second for the game and hurt my second QB until the forth, I had a 52 redshirt freshman in at QB and a 72 at RB, thats worse then some of the D1aa teams!

I was wondering how you got crushed by Air Force. But then again, I would have the same issue as you if my QB went down as I have 2 backups (one in the low 60s and the other at like 58). At least you have a running team. My only run formations are from the goaline set (and I am an elitist who wants to use SMU's playbook only) So if my starter (who sucks anyway) goes down... I might not be able to score an offensive TD in a long while

I am Air Force, I got beat by Houston, I didnt realize they rated Houston a 78 and Air Force a 63 (or close to those) we are not that bad!!!! I had a heisman contender at RB, hopefully he isnt out for the season, I havent looked since I ran out of the Dynasty Home crying like a little girl after she sees daddy kissing Santa Clause....

I did finally see the stupid pickfest everyone talks about. I thought the CPU was trying to let me win as all the sudden in the 2nd and 3rd quarter the CPU was throwing floaters and I had a 'user pick' clinic on display... but alas my second/third string backfield fumbled everyother possesion so I had no way of converting on the turnovers... all in all I think I three 3 picks (two were returned for six) fumbled many times with a couple being lost and the CPU threw 4 picks I think with many, MANY more being potential picks by anyone with CBs that could catch a six month old baby in a sand box.

In preparation for this dynasty I started one with USF just by myself. I lost either 3 or 4 games my first year, and USF got invited to join the ACC and I was offered jobs at some big time schools (I think Miami was one).

Are we free to accept any offers that come our way?

From what I read in a Q&A with the EA guys is that this option is turned off in Online Dynasties. (the conference invites & coaching jobs) I don't think you can get fired either, but my memory on that is foggy.

But it would be sweet if it was available. Cuz you can set it up as a competition with all players being one of the worst 10-20 teams in NCAA and the only way to get a better school would be to get coaching offers (or whoever becomes the Ohio State coach wins). But maybe that is something for 2010.

eh I dont think the computer could have screwed up my recruiting too bad

in preseason I picked the prospects I wanted to recruit and ranked them by priority, im pretty sure the CPU sticks to the general mold of that

Piney is probably going to beat the hell out of me though, I was awful in the online games I played

I will probably be home at like 3:30-4 PST time the way things are going today (not sure what time you get home from work), ill shoot you a message when I get home
