Another great game Fanatic. I still have no clue how my 'slow' QB was able to scramble for 18 yards on that 4th and 18 play. Or how he carried that defender for the last 4-5 yards. I thought he was going to end up inches short.
Now for the joyful (or in fanatic's case painful) details. I was down 28-17 with about 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. My offense has been able to move the ball all game, just a few timely INTs killed my point total. I am driving again but a few missed passes and then a sack I was facing a 4th and 18 to save my life.
The problem was I took too much time off the clock already. No way I could punt, so I had to go for it. Called a pass play but fanatic was playing man with safeties back. NO ONE was opened. I had moved to the left of the pocket and noticed NO ONE in front of me for 20 yards. So with my slow QB (not my fast QB) I took off.
I thought I was going to make it but his DBs closed fast, his DB hit about 5 yards shy of the first down marker but I had just hit the power move button and my lil QB that could carried him the next 5 yards for the 1st down.
I couldn't believe it.
Then I was able to score a TD with a little over 2 minutes left, kicked off and was able to hold fanatic and he punted with 1 minute left. 70 yards, 45 seconds later I was in the end zone! An amazing jumping catch by a frosh WR moved me a good chunk of yards down the field.
Too bad fanatic's only weapon was his RB. He couldn't keep me honest anywhere else. Even keying on that little fucker he was able to rush for 500 yards (or it seemed)
Another great game fanatic!!! And now that I have climbed the mountain... no need for me to play him again til 2010
