I moved Penn State's availability up one year, because I'm trying to entice some Pac-10 guy to move, but this is from the first post of this thread.Smooth Olaf;1435315; said:What?! There's some underhanded stuff going on around here. Hell, anymore recruiting classes like the one I'm about to pull in and I'm bound to get fired.
Destination Jobs:
USC, UCLA, Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan are the schools that I would consider "destination jobs". In the event that any of these schools drops below the 5* Program Prestige rating, they will be open to anyone currently in the opposite conference. e.g. Michigan dropping below a 5* rating means that any Pac-10 coach, not already at a "destination", may enter a random drawing to make the move to Michigan. Once you move to a destination job, you may not move again. Moving within your own conference doesn't happen very often in either of these conferences, so it won't happen in this dynasty. The coach of Washington cannot move to USC.
The Ohio State exception. For all of us, Ohio State is the ultimate job. In the unlikely event that Ohio State drops to a 4* program (can't happen before season 4), any coach may enter the random drawing to become the coach at The Ohio State University, with the exception of the person performing the drawing(the commissioner). That means that even if you are in the Big Ten and/or have already taken a job at a "destination" you may be allowed to enter the drawing.
Right now, Olaf is the only player at a "destination" and may not move anywhere else, unless it's to Ohio State.
IronBuckI;1435226; said:Two things:
1) Good news - buchtelgrad contacted Me and Piney last night, and he is alive and well. He had some complications from trying to rush back from his injuries, and was hospitalized the last two weeks. He said that he's good to go now, and will be rejoining us shortly.
IronBuckI;1435226; said:2) The Big Ten schedule is garbage. Since buchtel contacted us only a couple of hours after I made the post about not sending an invite, he can stay at Oregon State, if he so chooses. That means that we have 6 in the Pac-10 and four in the Big Ten. Whobe does not have Purdue or Wisconsin on his schedule and I am the only one that even has three human opponents in conference play. Everyone else has two. In order to make it easier for us to have reasonably even schedules in both conferences, I am making Penn State available to any Pac-10 team that wants them. If more than one player wants to move to Penn State, then I will use the same drawing program that we used to determine draft order.
Penn State is a 5* program now and has a projected B OVR rating.
By comparison, Wisconsin and UCLA are also 5* programs with B+ and B OVR ratings respectively. No other human controlled program is rated below a B-. MSU, Purdue, Oregon State, and Stanford are projected as B- OVR pending offseason recruiting.
I will not be playing against Penn state with a possibility of losing!my one condition would be that you schedule my ooc game against Stanford every year
I won't be home until sometime this afternoon/evening, so there's no hurry. I am also waiting for buchtel to make a decision on which team he wants to be. With the unbalanced Big Ten schedule it would actually be better to have a 6:4 or 7:5 ratio be in favor of the Big Ten. It's a lot easier to add one or two Big Ten teams, that may only have 3 or 4 human opponents on their conference schedule, to a Pac-10 teams schedule.Basebuck;1435393; said:Awesome news. So glad to hear everything is alright
I'd like to take a look at them before I commit but I might be interested. Can you give me until later tonight? Someone needs to move to even the leagues out. My one condition would be that you schedule my ooc game against Stanford every year
I would never do that to you.BuckeyeNation27;1435551; said:I will not be playing against Penn state with a possibility of losing!
No, that's something that I added mid-season when Piney and I both added the TE and FB guidelines to our dynasties. I thought that being able to move up in jobs would be a cool thing to have, but I didn't want to keep anyone(except me) from being able to go to Ohio State.Smooth Olaf;1435412; said:I just noticed that in the first post. Did you say Ucla was a destination job before we even chose our teams? I mean, it's no big deal. I don't want to change, I just never noticed that.

Basebuck is right. Pending an offseason recruiting coup. Penn State will fall from an A- OVR team to a B OVR team. Their cupboard took a pretty big hit. Everyone should be on fairly even ground as far as talent goes.Smooth Olaf;1435938; said:Man, who do I have to give a reach around to to keep PSU off my schedule? I mean...uh...
