Here's the difference in the game, imo. Baited you into this pick (though in 2010 you could throw it over his shoulder).

Jahvid best tops the heisman race, however briefly. When I saw you had finished your stuff, I advanced, not realizing I still had to play UCLA. We finished with a pedestrian 42-24 win, with poor performances from braxton, cook and virtually no carries for Williams.

Jahvid Best finally breaks through and takes home the heisman, in an incredibly close 1652-1531 pt victory over Oregon WR Cook.

Sources behind the scenes report that Cook suffered at the hand of his comrades, who finished in 3rd & 4th, taking home 1010 & 407 pts each (QB Miller & frosh HB Williams).

I have limited time this weekend, so I super-simmed most of the NC game. I ended up getting down 11 points late in the 4th, and made a furious comeback to win in the last :30.

Since it's the final year and we only have a week or two left, I moved us along to position switches to get teh ball rolling. If you want to go back and redo the recruiting, let me know. Note to others, this is not typical, just a 2-man thing to try and squeeze in another year before 2010.

The recruiting classes were neck and neck at that point, Ore #1 (6 5-stars) Cal #2 (5 5-stars). The final tally had cal at #3, but you only lost the #2 spot to TxTech due to quantity.

Your remaining prospects:

OT Douglas 4* Utah soft verbal, made it official after week 1
DT Chapman 4* Cal verbal after Wk 1
OLB Faga 4* 2nd place... wk 2 verbal to cal.
WR Schmidt 4* - wk 3 verbal.

I added a handful, but the only positive development was:

OT Minor 4* Hawaii soft verbal... flipped him. Wk 2 verbal.
Almost snagged a 4* DE from Texas for you.

:biggrin: It's nice to have my enemies doing work for me...congrats on winning the championship, it's about time one of us did! As for me, once I get off work I'll check up on where we're at and do my part. Are you going to be available at about 7:30 est?

OSU actually put up a fight in the first half. It was about 31-10, but they came away with 3 pts on 3 drives inside my 5 (1 INT, 1 missed FG). Then they rolled over and played dead, and Herbie talked about whether or not they'd be able to recover from a beating like that :so:

A few of my 5-stars weren't very useful, but the 5-star DT is starting as a true frosh and he's pretty disruptive. Dingle & Ward are a lot to handle as slot WRs, and I finally have some speed at TE to properly run the wing T & power I formations.

How is life after Best?

That true frosh qb that I started last year has blossomed into a 91 rated passer. He's actually making passes comparable to those that I make in the NCAA 10 demo. Two balanced runningbacks. The defense is extremely nasty...don't be fooled by that final score I was up 41-5 when i started simming it.

Nice. I'm looking forward to our clash. I've got a slew of talented corners, but all but 1 are young and inexperienced. Should be a good battle against your Marino QB. Stellar safety play, good backers, and a ferocious DL.

Merih, finish up your week 5 game sometime this weekend, and we'll play our final 2009 game (and head to head matchup) on Monday (I can do sunday if necessary, but mon is better)
