FSU just completed one of the most outrageous comebacks I've ever seen. Clemson was not only dominating, but FSU was playing as bad as possible, both user (playcalls, ints, etc) and cpu (not running into the flat, line of scrimmage --- I know redbenn, I'm due).
For 95% of the game, FSU could not do a thing. They tried power sets, shotgun sets, they couldn't even fall in the right direction.
Clemson buried deep in their end of the field, 2nd & long, pick up huge yards, and on the ensuing plays they waltz down the field for a TD. 7-0.
FSU's 1st drive - hit behind LOS, incomplete, negative pass, punt
Clemson marches down the field again, throws under pressure, gives up INT.
FSU's 2nd drive - two runs stopped at LOS. Third down shotgun, line shifted right to stop DE. DE is untouched and sacks QB on opposite side of field, forcing a fumble.
Clemson drives down the field with ease... delay of game penalty near goalline. 7 yds out, Clemson goes conservative and kicks FG with 10 sec remaining and a few downs left. 10-0. Clemson kicks it out of bounds (on purpose?), giving FSU the ball at the 40.
3rd - FSU runs a quick slant, dives down 48 yds away and calls TO. FSU's K bangs through a 65 yarder with the wind. 10-3.
FSU, thinking they have a chance after halftime, tries to hike the ball and instead hikes and throws instantly to the hike button - A. Picked off obviously. A sack on 3rd down leads to a clemson FG.
4th - FSU puts together a few plays, gaining 39 yards, and then promptly fumbling the ball away
Clemson is stopped after two first downs and punts.
5th drive - FSU denies bogus catch interference call, tries to run out of danger (5 yd line), gets stuffed well behind line, then is sacked in the endzone. 15-3.
Clemson drives down to the 30 & settles for a FG.
6th drive - 22 yd pass, 1 yd rush, 15 yd pass, -1 yd pass, incomplete pass. 17 yd pass to the goalline, where he is promptly stuffed
try to spike the ball, run a fake spike
and take a sack. Try to run it in, get stuffed for -2. Finally scramble for a TD. Go for 2 and pick it up.
7th drive - onsides kick bounces off the upman and recovered in a large scrum. Colston passes for 22, inc, 21, inc & 19 yds and a TD. 2 pt conversion good.
Clemson lets the kickoff bounce and it is recovered by FSU, who then downs the kick.
19-18 FSU, in the driving rainstorm that plauges every single ACC game.
