Hmm, good question. I think we should require at least one top-15 opponent. I'm open for suggestions for how we should handle this scheduling...

Well let's see. We get four OOC games. I say we get one top-10 or top-15 opponent, a rival if we have one OOC, a somewhat challenging non-BCS conferene game (Hawaii, BYU, etc.), and then Notre Dame or Michigan. Just because they should never ever get to a BCS bowl

no 1-AA!! That's right FSU ... no more padding the total wins

BCS Buster & ND/Mich to be determined later... what do you think about a schedule like this? (assuming it can be made, might have to make slight changes)

Clemson
Top10 - Bama (home)
Rival - South Carolina

Florida State
Top10 - Texas
Rival - Florida

Virginia Tech
Top10 - LSU
Rival - Tennessee? (not one, but makes sense geographically)

Wake Forest
Top10 - West Virginia?
Rival - Ohio State (basketball recruiting feud?)

Miami
Top10 - Oklahoma (return trip for 07)
Rival - Florida (ok to double dip here?)

North Carolina
Top10 - at Notre Dame (assuming they're top-15) (return trip for 08)
Rival - __________ ???? Kentucky isn't good enough... miami is in conf...

It looks like West Virginia is my only OOC rival (Battle for the Black Diamond Trophy)...

edit: upon further review, I think Boise needs to be swapped out for a top-15 team.

Not sure if you guys can control your scheduling, but this is what I have set up for OOC:

(number = week)

Virginia Tech
2. @ top-10 LSU
4. #12 WVU
7. ND
14. @ #13 Mich

Wake
1. @ #24 PSU
2. Boise
13. ND
14. @ #7 Wisc

Clemson
1. #5 or so Georgia
12. @ #8 Texas
13. @ S Car (ranked low twenties IIRC)
14. ND

Florida State
1. @ #13 Mich
2. ND
12. #9 UF
13. #11 Aub

Miami
1. ND
2. #1 OU
4. Cinci
13. #18 Tenn

UNC
1. @ #4 USC
2. #13 Mich
11. ND
14. #18 Tenn

I gave Clemson Texas to match up with the other schedules, which featured 2 elite teams or 3 good teams (or both), since SCar really isn't that good.

I may leave Wake with Boise. Even the playing field a bit, considering the talent he's coaching up.
