Edit: same with George Mason

I think the one I can take away from this year is the selection committee really values big wins. Stanford finished 18-12 with a 10-8 conference record and at large low 65 RPI. They struggled in their last ten going 4-6 which is supposed to be an important factor. Lost in their first game of the PAC10 tourny. The only thing I can see their resume hanging it's hat on is they got wins over Oregon, Washington St, UCLA, Texas Tech, USC, and Virginia. The committee had to have a had quite a bit of respect for the strength of the PAC10.

Oden, Buckeyes will be the stars of the show

The job Billy Gillespie has done with No. 3 Texas A&M (25-6) is the biggest turnaround in the Lone Star State since Buddy Holly left country music behind.

Selection process unkind to OSU, Columbus

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Major-college basketball fans in central Ohio probably have a couple of bones to pick with the NCAA Tournament selection committee. The committee did make Ohio State a No. 1 seed, in the South Regional, but it didn?t make the Buckeyes ? tops in both major polls ? the overall No. 1 seed. That went to Florida, the team that badly beat a young OSU playing with a rusty Greg Oden in December. Even North Carolina, which knocked off an Oden-less OSU early, was seeded ahead of the Buckeyes, who beat out Kansas in the pecking order of No. 1 seeds.
