NCAA Tournament Round 3: Vanderbilt vs. Georgetown (-7.5)

It's interesting that this year it seems the NCAA selection committee has made a huge effort to get the top 6-8 teams into the final weeks.

or maybe those teams are just better than the rest of the field this year. are you saying it's a conspiracy to get the better teams into the final weeks? or just a better job of selecting the teams? i think the committee always tries to get those teams the top seeds that are "deserving" the top seeds. this year those "deserving" teams happen to be better than most of the rest of the field.

I couldn't care less if they're an underdog or not. I don't like to see teams get screwed either.
What makes it worse is that the ref's blew a call that would have had a direct effect on the outcome of the game. Just horrible. What if that had been the Bucks instead of Vandy. I would just be beside myself if that had been us.

the ncaa committee was responsible for ohio state coming back from 20 down to tennessee, memphis beating a&m by 1, georgetown beating vanderbilt by 1, kansas beating southern illinois by 3, and ohio state coming back from 9 down in the last 3 minutes to xavier?

a lot of xavier fans think the refs blew the call at the end of their game, thinking that oden should have been called for an intentional foul.

That is still not even close to what happend in this game. Xavier missed the free throw and didn't take care of business because of that. This was a last second call that was an obvious travel. They aren't even close.

maybe i'm drunk or maybe i'm biased because of financial interests but i thought it was questionable not obvious. i was only making the comparison because fans will always be upset by calls at the end of the game that can have a deciding influence on the ends of games especially in a one and done tournament.

Good point....you may be drunk. J/K :slappy:

I know what your saying I just think that Xavier still had their chance to win the game but they didn't cash in. Vandy had no control of what happend with them at least that is how I thought it turned out.

Green's play might have been an "obvious travel," but a close review of the replay and of the rule book demonstrates it was NOT a travel; he never returned his pivot foot to the ground before releasing his shot.

Great play.

his travel was before the shot when he shuffled his pivot foot. if you're looking at his feet when he goes up for the shot, you're missing the travel.
