We have advanced to 'Cut Players', I will advance again tomorrow night.

Good stuff guy! I'm really glad we were able to blow through most of the offseason tonight.

Yeah, really glad we were able to bang through the offseason in one night. One good thing about a small tight dynasty that you can do that. Just harder in a dynasty like the other one with 8-10 players and such.

My safeties jumped big too, +8 for both FS and +9 for SS. Granted two of them are still 67 and 69 but oh well.

Yeah, just totally shocked me that all of my safeties jumped in the 8-9 range. I mean my one returning SS really sucked, but my average FS's just shocked me. They are now 77-78 rated which was nice.

Now for my gloating

If I knew my safeties were going to jump like that I wouldn't have put my uber athlete there. Here was his ratings:
QB - 77, 89 speed with 91 THP but 77 THA - Only reason he isn't my starting QB is because I got another athlete that is rated a 74 with 89 speed with 81 THP 84 THA (plus that was his highest rated position)
WR - 78... dang
OLB - 67... hmmmm
CB - 77 (tempting... and my original plan for him)
SS - 79 (position of need, but had another athlete that was a 75 there with more speed)
FS - 81... Yeah baby! My starting FS last year was a 69, so figured that big of a difference would matter. Now if someone would have told me that 69 was turning into a 78 I would have put him at CB. Maybe next season I will switch his position back, or if I get some nice DB recruits I can move him back to QB?

Now my other sick athlete that is 6'6 231 lbs with 90 speed. I didn't scout him 100% but uncovered enough defensive stats that made me think his natural position was a LB. Then he came out as a 64 rated OLB??? FUCK

Then his other positions:
CB - 71 - really? a 6'6 CB? hmmmmm
FS - 77 - dang... talk about a centerfielder
SS - 75 - oooooo, I need SS. If I didn't have other guys rated that high coming in that is where he would have went... until I saw this.
HB - 77... what? He could be an offensive player?
WR - 78 BINGO!!! Then I looked at his WR ratings which I ignored in scouting. low 80s Route running... upper 70s in catch, catch in traffic & spectacular catch... hmmmmmmmm YEAH BABY!!!

Other surprises was a DE/OLB prospect that I found out was a 71 rated OT??? really??? where did that come from. Stuck him at DE, 68 rated. And another ATH that I pegged for OLB that was more of a CB/DB but with 85 speed and a OLB frame and a BIG need for OLB and with my other ATH that I pegged for OLB sucking, I stuck him at OLB with a 67 rating.

So it was quite a learning experience and made position changes a bear since my pre-conceived notions were wrong and had to make changes on the fly. Plus I had to move my teambuilder players that I had to put in different positions back to original positions (I had 2 OL as CBs...)

All I can say is this makes recruiting really fun in this game!

EDIT - Another thing I didn't realize til the preseason recruiting was that you could scout players that already committed. Since I will full I was able to scout some of my original early commits that were never fully scouted. Found 2 gems I never knew I had

The post-commit scouting was pretty cool. That's what I did the first couple of weeks while you guys were recruiting. That and negative recruiting the 78 OVR WR that Piney was trying to get after I had my 25 signed. He ended up signing with Houston after Piney filled his class. Piney and I were the only ones that offered him, but the no decision making punk ended up at Houston without an offer.

I also had something pretty crazy happen with cuts. I open the screen, and, despite having three QBs on my roster, there's a 40 OVR QB that walked on. I was going to cut him, because who needs 4 QBs when one of them is a 40 OVR turd? Well, he's from New York, and that gave me 4 players from the state of NY. If I cut him; I lose a pipeline. That was the hardest part about cutting players. I basically had to focus solely on players from California, and players that wouldn't cost me a valuable pipeline, or cause me to lose ground in getting another pipeline.

Yeah, I filled up my 25 scholarships in Week 2, but kept recruiting him for shits and giggles, and you never know if he would 'walk on'

He was a backup plan in case for some reason I lost out on a guy. I really hoped you got that WR to commit because I also was recruiting the Athlete that you ended up getting. Oh, thanks for letting us know that you had two highly rated guys but could sign only one, and I didn't even need to scout them since you told us their ratings

And of note... I am thinking you are right that recruiting is a tad bit too easy. What setting is it on? If it is on varsity... then definately bump it up to all-american. But if it is on All-American... well I would really need to know how hard is recruiting on heisman.

It's on varsity. And, yeah, that same WR was a backup plan for me too. He was there just in case I didn't land all of those final three recruits.

I finished mine last night
Good. Olaf sent me a "done" message after I advanced to cuts, but it was only a couple minutes after. So I'm not sure if he was done with cuts, or he was done checking his player progression, so I just need to hear from him again and I'll advance.

Advanced to the preseason. Olaf is now in the Big East: North Division. I am in the MWC: West Division. Piney is in Conference USA. Fanatic is in the Sun Belt.

So when you work out schedules, I would like away games in Georgia and California please
