The first link seems to characterize it as a coaching RPG mode (akin to Road to Glory) where your character attempts to work his way up the ranks as a coach. I disagree strongly with the author of that post and his idea that one should be able run the plays that they call in such a mode. A real coach doesn't get to call the plays and go out of the field to make sure they're executed. It should isolate and test the player's playcalling skills. Simulating the plays and making decisions based on the strengths and weaknesses of your personnel versus what the opponent is doing is the best way to do that.

The second link characterizes it as being able to assemble a staff with individual attributes that impact the strength of the team and the direction of the program. This could be a good thing if it ends up fixing the problems with training and player progression that I've noticed in this iteration of the game. If always thought it was rather arbitrary the way the game determines which players improve from one season to the next, and by how much.

That second link also contains some talk about wanting custom playbooks. I say go for it - it's not like online play isn't already a complete cesspool of cheesing. Let the kiddos consolidate all of the game's money plays into one playbook and beat each others' brains in with nothing but trick plays and exotic formations.

One little feature I think they need to implement in the Road to Glory mode is the create your face feature that Fifa uses. The player that I created with the online version looks identical to myself. I'm still not going to buy this game. I play the game for about a month and then it gets returned.

What everyone's been asking about, GAMEPLAY:http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ERBq4dnLBaA

And some other stuff:

Has anyone noticed that tOSU is either: not featured in some videos, there is a bad play being made by Ohio State, or a good play is being made against us?

Fixed the embed. I think you have to get the base URL for the video's page. I've found if you're redirected from an embed somewhere else you'll ge a different (longer, more complicated) URL that won't work when you try to embed it here.

Somebody smarter than me can probably explain it a bit better.

I love the way Herbie is like "no longer does our zone defense totally suck". EA wouldn't admit last year that their zone defense was shit.

I like how they are so proud of the pre-game graphics and animation that they apparently spend so much time on. Maybe I am unique in this, but I skip that shit 99.9% of the time.

At the solution looks like it might be something other than giving CPU LBs & DLs the ability to jump out of their fucking shoes to cover the holes.
