NCAA Football 11 (PS3) Bad Teams Online Dynasty

I was able to load up an OD save and restart our screwed up OD from last night. While I'm at it, I've invited Tonyank and Olaf to join so I can see if I write the schedules, or whether each user does. Having each user write seems like it would create quite the cluster, IMO.

A couple of things have me worried about this year's game.

  1. I was not able to find where you can save an online dynasty as an offline dynasty. If the OD save can be converted back into the OD, in case of a crash, then I am all for getting rid of that feature. That probably eliminates "pre-recruiting" as a way of finding pitches before you do real recruiting online. Big plus in my book. However, if you can't turn the saved OD file back into an OD, and given that we've had more than one dynasty crash and/or commissioner screw up over the years, I am not cool with getting rid of offline saves.
  2. The second thing is that I only looked very quickly at the schedules and it doesn't appear that the commish does everyone's schedule. I only had access to my team's schedule. Did anyone else have "custom schedules" listed on their preseason menu? If not, I'll look into it in a little more detail.

That doesn't sound so good... maybe snoop around the gaming boards to see if anyone has brought that issue up or how that works. Does this mean we might actually have to read the manual?

Don't worry about it. I learned what I needed to know, and that's that a crashed or screwed up dynasty is retrievable. Also, that saving an offline dynasty is no longer allowed.

Also, either I can write everyone's schedules, or they have to write their own. Running a test dynasty isn't going to change that.

I've taken the fake dynasty offline. I'll try to get the real dynasty up within the next hour or so.

I'm getting ready to send invites for the new and improved Bad Team Dynasty. I'm going to start us out on AA with Varsity recruiting. 7 minute quarters, no ice kicker, and everything else set to default. In an attempt to make the bad conferences a little better I made some additional changes to the conferences, without weakening any of the BCS conferences.

These are the changes:

ACC: fanatic replaces Duke
Big 12: 'mania replaces Iowa State
Big East: Bluffton replaces Louisville
Big Ten: Tony replaces Indiana
Conference USA: BN27 replaces UAB, Tulane and Memphis swap divisions, Louisville replaces Tulane
Independents: FAU, North Texas, and PCU replace Army, Navy, and NoD
MAC: Indiana, Iowa State, and Notre Dame added to the West. Army, and Navy added to the East.
Mountain West: Already pretty strong...Added Boise State and removed San Diego State.
Pac-10: Whobe replaces Washington State
SEC: Olaf replaces Vandy
Sun Belt: stuck with left overs; Duke, Tulane, UAB and Vandy
WAC: stuck with San Diego State and Washington State.

Also, I un-cheesed Pryor, and used Olaf's roster. I like his changes, and the idea to set some of the not on the team guys to zero, so they won't be in the game after season 1.

EDIT: Now that I know what the "Time Saver" thing is, I have turned it off. I also set the Player Min Speed Threshold to 65. 50 was the default. If we want more or less speed differential, we'll change it, but I thought that default might be a little too much differential...especially for the guys playing in BCS conferences.

Run keys don't seem to be as tecmo bowl'ish now, at least so far. Do we want to allow them or not?
I think so. We'll have a whole season before we start playing against other users, so I think that we should use them to make sure that they're ok to use in the bowl games.

I am STRONGLY against the speed setting as put now.

I played a game last night with my team against Washington and my tailbacks were SLOW!!!!! Their d-line seemed faster then my 90+ speed tailback.

I understand it made their offense slower for me, but the inability to run the ball made the game boring......I can live but I definitely say moving it back to 50.

Thanks
