I can't recall the exact score, but my first game was a good one... that maryland I could be a pretty deadly formation.

CPU Minny 20?
Me Sparty 17?

I had a number of turnovers, went for it on many field goal tries, but overall it was a very even game on AA default sliders, 5 min.

I played as OSU against Texas, and was up 40 to 3 at halftime. I turned it off and went to bed (though Bauserman/Guiton both threw picks when I threw prayers while getting hit, but they were intercepted downfield not by DL). That season showdown scoreboard will be annoying (ie sportsmanship against the cpu, come on).

I'm really enjoying the menu music. They seem to have NFL Films style music.

Sometimes they just have a drumline, other times they have the inspirational soundtrack that you hear behind the intro to this game. I wonder if they paid for someone to write a soundtrack for this game or just borrowed it from someone.

Recruiting is so different. You decide before the call how many topics you will discuss (10 min per). It randomly picks a subject (early PT, location), shows you how your school rate, then you can pitch that, ask his interest in that topic, compare that topic versus another leader, change the subject, make him a promise or offer a scholarship.

For A/A+ pitches, I got about a 160 pt bump (same as the offer), plus another 17-19 pts as a pipeline bonus.

Another new thing, pitching something without asking his preference will not unlock his interest level in that subject. Pitching an A+ subject that he doesn't like is only worth 60-70 pts, whereas asking him can be worth about 50-60 even if he hates it, so it really rewards listening to his interests, not just skipping to his favorite topics.

I also just got an 'advisor bonus', I'm not sure what that is, but maybe EA added handlers  I think the advisors are tied to the X2 multiplier, so perhaps that means you have a friend of the program in his inner circle.

I'm in a game, so I can't check now. My thought is we both already kNOw the answer.

Torrence with a nice jump on the ball for a pick6. The music is definitely there after TDs and I can hear it just fine.

Edit: I just knocked Laces out of the game for 2 quarters. scUM is down to playing Gardner, and may be the last QB on the roster.

Cam gets sack # 3 and they punt. Posey is shaken up on the return and out for a quarter. Run a play or 2 then line with WRs set to run streaks. Defense is up at the line showing run support. The slot gets a step on the defender ad it's over. TD.

I heard the music that time, and it seemed fine to me.

Heyward with a sack on 3rd down and he injured the Tatersquat. Nice.

Shows he is out for the game.

Damn. 1 game and two major injuries, along with a couple minor? Hopefully its just because tOSU's D is badass and scUM are a bunch of pussy's.

Just finished a great user game vs a friend, Texas 21 (me) - OSU 24. I threw a pick while driving for the game winning FG.

Great realism. A safety caught flat footed in center field with a streaking WR will not stay behind him. I also tried to bait him into a couple of picks with a DE dropping into zone, and I could not accelerate/move fast enough to close the gap like the last game, even though the gap was only about 3-4 extra yards.

It was a little too hard to get the running game going. The game does a great job clogging the rushing lanes and has eliminated the truck stick garbage (last year you could flick it after contact for extra yards, no more). However, I tried all forms of running plays and unless the defense wasn't ready, it is really hard to run the football. We'll see how it is against a defense less stacked than OSU's, however.

The control in the passing game was tremendous. Both of us were able to make some brilliant throws to the intermediate outside (though my best one was dropped as the WR tried to tap his toes), or throw inside of zone coverage. However, it was also realistic on longer passes. On my game-losing INT, I had a WR squatting on a curl route on the left side. After 4 seconds, he broke off his route and headed upfield. I tried to throw a bullet to him since there was a 20-25 yard pocket between the short zone and deep db (who was run off by a deep WR). Last year, that would have been a laser throw to the WR (or intercepted by the LB 20 yds in front of him ). Since it was a 40-45 yd throw (I was on the other hash and a little deep in the pocket), he had to wind up and put too much air under it. This was with garrett graham who has good arm strength. Maybe Ryan Mallett can make that throw, but because it was such a long one, it gave the safety time to get underneath it and pick it off.

No injuries in our game. I had a couple major ones against Minnesota (as MSU) last night

 true.

You can view the broadcast view replay (aka sweet cut scenes, closeup of QB, wide passing view, closeup of catch and run) for any play. They've really improved the angles used for those plays as well.

Sounds really time consuming. Do you have to go through all of that crap to get your prospects or is there a quicker way?

The OSU roster is finished!

ups7 is my username, to download it in game, go to team management -> roster share -> download roster -> search for ups7

I'll keep working on the rest of the names, but I fixed every minute detail I could find, down to which arm bands, facemasks and hometowns should be present.

There were a few changes I could not make (like Devon wearing #1, Corey Brown wearing 10, Louis = 6, Hall = 7 because those numbers were already worn by another player, and you still can't enter duplicates)

Roster changes made (since EA limits us to 70 players)

Duron Carter became Corey Brown II
Connor Smith became Andrew Norwell
Evan Blankenship became Darryl Baldwin (which means he has hulk-sized guns, since he was made from the OL model)
Keith Wells became Scott McVey
Jamel Turner became JT Moore

I left Roderick on the team. I think he'll make it later this year or at least by next season, which is the first time folks will be using him anyway.

It's really pretty fast. What it eliminates is the risk of wasting 1 hour on one pitch like the old game.

Every move in recruiting takes 10 min. You basically pick how many pitches or turns you want with a recruit, so for a five star, I'll decide to use 4 turns (4 x 10 min).

It randomly chooses your pitch most of the time (occasionally you get a coach's pick).

You then decide to pitch it, ask about it, negative recruit with it, or change the subject. Alternatively, you can use that turn to offer a scholarship or schedule a visit.

Basically it goes:

Pitch 1 (first 10 min) Pitch chosen by CPU is Coach Prestige. Ask him if he likes it

Pitch 2 - Pitch chosen by CPU is Playing Time. I use this slot to offer him a scholarship

and it would continue on depending on how many pitches you committed to ahead of time.
