NCAA 12 (PS3) 4th Annual Online Dynasty Thread

Link to Promotion/Relegation Dynasty Thread
IronBuckI;2099390; said:
I posted this in the NCAA 12+Rosters thread, because some of our former dynasty members are subscribed to that thread, but not this one anymore. Piney has already damned me to hell, because he can't commit to something like this, but here's my idea for another OD.
Guaging interest in a second PS3 OD. I'm still working out the details, but these are the basics.

  • This would be an ongoing dynasty. The idea is not to make this an NCAA 12 dynasty, but to make it an NCAA Football Dynasty that will move from one version to the next by using Teambuilder and custom conferences.
  • Promotion/Relegation System. Everyone starts in the lowest prestige "conference", and will have the opportunity to be promoted one level higher each year (Independent to WAC, WAC to Conf. USA West, etc.).
  • D+ and lower teams only (there are only 10 of them). We're building our teams from scratch here.
  • 1* Prestige teams only. Some of the D and D+ teams are 2*. Teambuilder can rectify that problem.
  • This would ultimately turn from a "Bad Teams Dynasty" into a Dynasty where most of the users will be in the top prestige conference(s), where each user has spent multiple seasons building their team to fit their exact style of play.
If there's any interest in this type of dynasty, let me know. If more than a couple of people want to do something like this, then I'll start a separate discussion thread to iron out the details.

Unlike the old "Bad Teams Dynasty", we could go fast or slow, depending on everyone's schedule. By continuing this year after year, we won't have to try and burn through seasons quickly in order to see progress in building our programs.

Let me know if there's any interest. If not, I'll just continue the one that I started offline. I am, once again, the PCU Whooping Cranes.

Piney and I attempted to play 5 or 6 times I guess, we could never get to the coin toss. We are going to try tomorrow again.

So it seems like the NCAA gods do not want the SEC Championship to happen. Fanatic and I tried like 1,000 times last night. Most of the time we couldn't get to the coin flip, a few times I was able to get to the coin flip and to the kickoff before letting me know that fanatic lost connection and then we tried to play a normal game and it was fine. Then we decided to just play a normal game between Ole Miss v Tennessee using last year's rosters and connection dropped within the 1st minute of play.

WTF???

Will see if we can try again tonight, but what shall we do if we keep having problems???

Piney and I finally got our game in. It is probably my DMZ or port forwarding issues with my router. As soon as I plugged directly into the modem, no more issues, other than a few long nerve-wrecking pauses in the game.

Damn him for being so good, he broke quite a few tackles in the SEC title game and the back breaker when he broke out of my tackle that would have stopped him to a 4 yard gain then bounced off and raced 50-60+ yards for the game deciding TD.

Finally got it in, but good game fanatic. Could have went either way for awhile but you pulled away in the 4th quarter. The pick six pissed me off cuz that outside WR was uncovered and then my QB airmailed it missing it badly right to your CB.

If anyone's PS3 is not already in DMZ, then I would suggest doing so. I did this to mine a couple months ago, and it has made a noticeable difference.

PS3's don't execute .exe files, so opening up your PS3 ports shouldn't present any real risk.

Obviously, I would not recommend putting a PC in DMZ mode.

Here's a link to a guide for putting your PS3 in DMZ mode. My router actually requires automatic IP addressing, rather than manual (static), for DMZ mode, but the rest of the information is good.

At first it looked like he was going to drop it. I was so pissed for missing the first long pass to Hunter, i took control to get out the way of your CB but hit catch too late. If all my offensive guys come back, that side of the ball will be loaded. But my QB, 2WR, and RB will probably all turn pro.

It was definitely not a 14 point game. You had the long option run and i camr out in a tight I formation but was going to run a streak pattern for Hunter but audibled when i saw you were in a pass defense. Did you blitz out of that package? Once i got 10 yards everyone was behind Neal.

I have had mine since last years game and my router alloes for the PS3 MAC address as the identifier so i havent had problems. But for whatever rrason, Piney and I couldnt play until i was directly into the router.

Then the only things I can think of is that your ethernet port crapped out, or the cable that you took out of the circuit, by bypassing the router, went bad. Did you try plugging into another port?

Figured you were due for one of your streak patterns so came out in a pass defense, but there was a blitz from the weak side that opened up that run after you got by the initial front.

Your streak plays were pissing me off as I normally had a cover 2 man defense but the safety was too slow/bad to stop it. Thankfully that changes next year as I grabbed a stud FS and the 2 fast safeties I recruited last year that are redshirting should be good enough to stop that from happening next season.

Then again if your stud RB comes back... damn, tacklers would just bounce off him. That was the problem with my running game this year, no power guys as my stud is a small speed freak as your saw on that speed option.
