NCAA 12 (PS3) 4th Annual Online Dynasty Thread

I need more practice. A LOT more practice.
I don't think the physics and schemes are strong enough in this game to have a prolific option offense against users. I ran a 3-4 most of the game versus you and was stopping you too easily. Against Smooth, if I ran 3-4, it was an easy 5-6 yards for him every time. There were several plays where I thought you were going to have a nice gain, but magically my guys jump off the blocks and make the tackle.

Your 99 yard run was hilarious. I thought I had you at the LOS, but then you pitch and I try to switch players quickly and accidentally hit R2 right as I changed and off you went. The best play you had though, was I think in the 4th quarter; you ran the misdirection and faked me out something fierce. Defensively you were getting a lot of pressure throughout the game.

I agree, but I think that I'll probably continue to beat my head against this wall until I figure out the best mix of option, straight run, and pass. None of my QBs have the ability to run much of anything else.

I was pretty happy with my pressure, but I guess I'm a little confused by some of your long TDs. In the past, I've had to resist the urge to hit the square in order to tackle, because it would cause a dive, and make me miss the tackle. This time, I didn't hit any button, and I just kind of chest bumped you, and you were off to the races. When controlling a player, do I have to initiated the tackle animation in order to actually wrap you up? If so, I need to work on that as well.

Peebles run was pretty awesome. I almost never pitch the ball on the quick option, because I usually cut it up field. I was just trying to get some space between me and the goal line. You stopped up the off tackle cut, and strung out the play. I noticed Peebles was uncovered, and still only expected a 5 or 6 yard gain. Your missed tackle must have been what sprung him for my only score of the day.

Going up 7-0 made me think I might not be as rusty as I thought. Losing 38-7 convinced me that I'm more than just a little rusty.

I always do user tackles by diving or don't switch to the player and allow the CPU to do it. Based on the pass play, I am assuming that not hitting a button will just have your guy race me instead of actually tackling. It should make you feel good that your CB is faster than my WR, you definitely proved that

I uploaded this run to the website, unfortunately it picks up after the pitch but you can see the whole run.

There's a theory that hitting the sprint button calls the defense to the play, and I am a very heavy sprint user. I'm trying to be more patient with my running, but our game was only the second full game against a reasonably talented team, my first against a human opponent, and I resorted to old habits. I need to hit the practice field hard, and really make an attempt at getting rid of the bad habits that I got away with in the '09 and '10 versions of this game.

The last time I played Iron, in NCAA 11, he was running the option. He was up 21-0 on me before I had a chance to get comfortable. Then the game froze.
That's some memory you have there. The only thing that I remember from NCAA 11 is constant frustration, and no time to practice because of my wedding and promotion at work. Hectic year...now that things have slowed down a bit, I'm hoping I can get my NCAA 2009 form back, but I'll settle for my NCAA 2010 form.

That will have to be when we try it. I've got a very early flight Wednesday morning, and need to get packed and run other errands Monday and Tuesday night. I'll be away from the PS3 until pretty late next Sunday. So, if we don't get the game in Monday night, you'll need to put me on auto.
