My son is also a junior and a drummer in the band at that high school. He said that Sam wants to play at NC State. We’ll see how it turns out.

Sun Valley is normally a low-to-middling football program. This kid took his team to the state semi-finals this year. He’s a special talent.

Ohio State Offers 2019 NC Quarterback Sam Howell

Ohio State offered 2019 quarterback Sam Howell on Friday. Howell (Sun Valley HS/Monroe, NC) is the sixth quarterback the Buckeyes have offered in the 2019 class.

Howell (6-1 217) added an offer from Clemson just over a week ago. He also holds offers from Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others.

The No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the nation per the 247Sports Composite, Howell can also run a bit. He threw for over 3,000 yards this season and rushed for over 1,500 yards. He compiled 60 total touchdowns.

Howell has a strong arm and can stay alive in and out of the pocket. He throws on the move very well and with velocity, and is reminiscent of Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield.
