NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

Has this “in season tournament” made the games any more compelling to anyone?

Can’t say I care much more about them than regular nba regular season games. Maybe in the later rounds in December I might have increased interest, especially with college football wrapping up.

The league should be asking why they need to resort to such tactics in the first place to keep fan’s interest in the regular season.

I think it's a very flashy way of addressing load management. It doesn't bother me, but I don't know anyone who actually cares.

One player doesn't win a basketball game, and here's another example. I once watched MJ drop 63 on the Celtics. He lost. It's a team sport.

Giannis also had a really bad turnover and foul on the next possession that pretty much sealed the deal. Pretty rough stretch considering how great he was otherwise.

Middleton is MIA

I also don’t mind it but am not super excited by the early stage games.

Maybe when the semis and finals are played I’ll be more interested.

Wenbenyama is pretty underwhelming to me for the hype. It looks good on highlights when it goes in but he's not actually a good shooter. Woj calling him the best prospect in the history of sports was idiotic.
Calling anyone the best prospect ever in the history of sports proves, more often than not, to be idiotic.

There is almost no way for him to live up to the hype OTHERs gave him. He's a freakishly tall teenager who has basically been preparing since age 12 to come to the NBA... I think the attitude was different back with LeBron because he wouldn't be allowed to be a teenager in the NBA due to all the extra hype he woulda had...

Warriors' Draymond Green suspended 5 games by NBA

The NBA has suspended Golden State forward Draymond Green for five games without pay for "escalating an on-court altercation" against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the league announced Wednesday.

Green, one of three players ejected after a fight during Tuesday's in-season tournament game against Minnesota, also was suspended for "forcibly grabbing" Rudy Gobert around the neck "in an unsportsmanlike and dangerous manner," NBA executive vice president Joe Dumars said in a statement.

Dumars said Green's history of unsportsmanlike conduct played a role in the length of the suspension.

Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels, who were also ejected, were fined $25,000 along with Gobert for their roles in the incident.

Part of the punishment should be having Dwight Howard punch him in the nuts
