Game Thread Navy 27, at tOSU 31 (Sep 5th, ESPN)

As a veteran, I am delighted to see that the Buckeyes will be great hosts to Navy.

I just hope that Tress doesn't overdo the respect angle and let these guys stay in the game too long. I'd like to see our guys get lots of reps but see the second string get lots of playing time as well.

As a former Army officer, I hope the Bucks kick the crap out of Navy!

The Golden Bear's i-dotting was shown on every SportsCenter that night, including top plays and the montage during the lead-in.

If John Glenn gets to dot the 'i', you'll see it.
Isn't Glenn dotting the i for the alumni band. I think I read that and that's not the same as for TBDBITL to me.

Here is the article. It is kind of vague when it reports he will join the alumni band yet be on the field when both the alumni and TBDBITL are.

tOSU

Even rarer is the appearance of an honorary i-dotter during an Alumni Band Day performance, which is the honor awaiting the Glenns. The last non-band member to join both the student and alumni marching bands on the field was OSU President Gordon Gee during his first tenure as president more than a decade ago.

Doing it on Alumni Band day will obviously be rarer, as that is done only once a year. But an argument could be made that it is less special. On Alumni Band day they do Quad Script Ohio, so there are 3 other i-dotters.

Woody dotted the "i" for The Game. (as it should be)

As a lifelong buckeye fan (been going to games since I was 6) and a Naval Academy grad, this game is a dream come true for me. I'm driving the 11 hours from my current duty station to make sure to watch my two favorite teams play (my tailgating tent will be the one that has a roof that is 1/2 USNA and 1/2 OSU). Reading this forum has reinforced what I knew about BP and OSU fans in general (at least most of us). Still deciding what to wear (OSU, Navy, Uniform...) but can't wait to be there on the 5th!

After 4 years of going to Navy games all over the country (when I was a student) I highly encourage all the cheering you can muster! Keep up the great attitude and go Bucks! (and Navy!) :oh:

:io:

Wear your uniform and carry a buckeye in your pocket.

Beat Army!

With just a week to go its time to start analyzing the most important aspect of this game.

Is OSU going to cover the 22.5?

It depends on how Coach Tressel call the plays. I can definitely see him being quite conservative here because of the upcoming game against USC. Personally, I would like for him to open up the playbook and get the team flowing with great confidence and making plays in a variety of ways.

I do think this may actually be over with OSU on top by 21 points, but not enough to beat the spread.

Actually, let's make it this way: If Coach Tressel allows Pryor to scramble whenever he wants to, they will beat the spread. If he limits Pryor from scrambling, then they will not beat the spread.

Can vs. Will... Yes they can, but I feel tressel plays it close to the vest, Navy eats up a lot of clock, and in the end I say 31-10, They can but I don't think they will.
