I would just like to give a big thank you to UNI for giving us what appears to be a much easier road to the final 4.

Not to mention the Ohio Bobcats.

Georgia Tech and Tennessee aren't gimmes, but it sure doesn't hurt to see the Hoyas and Jayhawks going home.

As a Buckeye fan living in Lawrence, I can't even explain to you what the mood is like here. I didn't even want to leave the house. As Buckeyes fans, we know the feeling all too well. It sucks when the season ends w/ unfulfilled expectations.

I'm really excited about how this bracket opens up for OSU to make a little run. To win a title you need some luck (KU and G-town going down helps), a great PG (we have E.T.) and a secondary scorer (we have 2 w/ Diebler and Buford).

Good Luck Bucks the rest of the way.

A voice of dissent: I like Kansas. They aren't UCLA, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Duke, Kentucky, UNC; teams whose demise I eagerly await each year. I've driven through Lawrence and seen the gulag those poor kids have to live in -- were it not for the fun of B-ball season it would be a miserable place to spend one's undergrad days. The weather is worse than Ohio's. Lawrence makes Oxford, Ohio look absolutely cosmopolitan. Without a ride to the Elite Eight to shatter the heartbreaking gloom of the place there is nothing to live for. I feel their pain.

I am so glad they lost. Living in Wichita, these people breathe, eat and sweat KU basketball. All they do is talk it, and no other bball team competes with them. The mood here in Kansas as a quiet one. After the game, I went out to local establishments where the KU games are usually watched, (of course wearing a Buckeye hoodie) and all people were rediculously hammered, or talking about what went wrong. I got the glares from people, and that's why I went out. It fealt good for KU to go down, now I don't have to hear these people all off season.

I hear the local cuisine is unbelievable.

I was stationed in Kansas for 3+ years and I have always told anyone who would listen if they were dying and only had a year to live they should spend it in Kansas.

Because everyday feels like a fucking eternity.

Apparently there isn't any left

And you have to listen to "We're not in Kansas" jokes.

Hey, the kids that root for Kansas don't have much else to hang their hat on. I'd much rather deal with them than the rich white kids who root for poor black kids to bring honor to their school at Georgetown, Duke, Notre Dame, Xavier -- elitist pr icks I believe is the term here on BP.

And if you think Kansas fans are over the top, spend a bit of time here on the border with KY Jelly Tech.
