My ex had nice shoulder length hair when we started dating and then went to a hair-sprayed 3-4 inch length. It was awful.
The amazing thing is that most girls don't know how much guys dislike short hair. At least among high school & college aged guys, I've found about 90-95% of them dislike shorter hair. And usually, if the girl looks good with short hair, its because she also looks better with long hair. I have only seen two girls in my life that looked better with short hair.
This rule changes a little bit once you get over 30-35... then depending on the woman the long straight hair looks too much like they're trying to cling to their teens.

Last week I had my hair cut to chin-length, which is about 6 inches shorter than it used to be. Manfred says I now look like I'm 16, which I think excites him.

Nice find, Deety! You could say that the hair-down-to-ass comment was a bit of exaggeration -- or else my definition of six inches is different than yours! I just felt like it was that long sometimes, especially after slamming it in the car door so many times.
