The G.O.A.T.
Didn't want this to muddy up the Buckeye Forum as it wasn't an active question, but I was talking with a buddy about great recent OSU QB's on how you would rank these QB's in regards to a must win game?

The options were Troy Smith, Terrelle Pryor, Braxton Miller, and Craig Krenzel.

Obviously different strengths/weaknesses with each and all great in their own right.

I'll wait to see the responses but in the end I decided I'd go with Craig (avatar shocker) in a must win as he always found a way to make a play, no matter who he had with him or what the circumstances were he just made it happen. Pryor might be my surprise #2, debatable with him and Troy who has the 3-0 record against scUM but the UF game will forever be unfortunately burned into my mind.

Thoughts?

Tough call because it's hard to evaluate those guys against one another as each played in such a different style of offense between the highs and lows of Big Ten competitiveness. Krenzel had the most talent around him and a ridiculous defense. Troy as a senior was surgical. Pryor changed gameplans the moment he walked on the field, but those Michigan teams he chewed up were garbage.

I'd probably go with Pryor.

I'd bet on Art Schlichter.
Bets involving Schlichter seldom work out well.

IMO, we can't make a real comparison because they played in different eras, under different coaches with different philosophies, BUT regardless of how he has messed up his promising life, he remains (IMO) the only buckeye QB with the capabilities to win a fantasy level game against the best any other school could throw out there.

Pryor doesn't get the credit he deserves. He won a lot of really big games here. Troy gets a lot of flack for the debacle in the desert, but that was a team loss. Nobody was ready. Prior to that he was pretty money. If the chips are down, and I have to chose ONE...I'm probably going with Troy Smith, with Pryor a close second. Though, Braxton is gaining steam.
