Most Satisfying Buckeye Wins For YOU

The Game in 2005 for some reason was more satisfying to me personally than many other bigger/more important games

I just sat there have some celebration drinks as calm and fully satisfied with life as I can be.

Last night had a very similar vibe but not quite.

Another one was Purdue 2002. Holy Buckeye....I started to believe. A lifetime of watching them find a way to fail and that was the moment it changed. I'm no apologist for the other stuff but for 2001 scUM and 2002 overall....Woody bless Jim Tressel.

Trying to read others made me lose track......my personally most satisfying game was 1985 vs Iowa. I was 14 and it did me more personal good than a football game really should to be honest.

I will never forget that one. Thanks Earl

The Game 1987 was another but for personal reasons 1985 Iowa is my #1

I live in the panhandle of Florida, and have since 1996 ..

1) 2015 Sugar Bowl...Everywhere I went for the past 2 weeks, I was getting laughs, and sarcastic remarks if I thought OSU had a shot. When I said yes, people looked at me like I had an eyeball missing. And this just wasn't Bama fans, it was UF, LSU, Aub, and rest of the entire fucking deep south

2)National Title Fiesta Bowl...nuff said

3)2002 Michigan, again, nuff said

4)2011 Sugar Bowl...first "win" over SEC school in bowl game

5) 2010 Rose Bowl

Same list for me except flipping #1 and #2. Replacing #4 with 2006 OSU-scUM

Good thread right here and I like hearing others' list and reasoning behind it. As for me:

1.) 1970 Michigan - after having to hear about the "upset of the century" and watch highlight after highlight for a whole year (and this was before ESPN), revenge was sweet. This was right before I moved from Ohio and remembering that game brings back a lot of childhood memories.

2.) 2001 Michigan - JT does what he was brought to do. Set the stage for the whole decade.

3.) 2002 Michigan - Never was I as nervous throughout a game. Hate to admit this, but I was almost conditioned to expect something bad to happen.

4.) 2003 Miami - Now that I've aged myself in my #1 pick, you know that my generation experienced numerous missed national championship opportunities. As a kid in '68, and with the talent that was returning, I thought championships would grow on trees. Then I thought that Archie would win a couple. Then it was Earle's near miss, Coop's near misses, you get the picture. Beating Miami was a cleansing.

5.) 1995 Notre Dame/2015 Alabama - yeah, I'm copping out on picking just one, but my reasons are the same. At the time, ND in the early to mid 90's was perceived much like Bama. Media darlings, invincible coaches in big games, the Bucks being perceived as unable to win outside the conference, both of these wins are extremely satisfying.

I hope to revise my list on January 12.

1. 1968 Michigan - the stage is set for a NC with a win over USC featuring OJ.
2. 1969 Rose Bowl - the year the Buckeyes squeeze the Juice and win the NC.
3. 1968 Purdue - super sophs beat the #1 rated team in the country to start the ball rolling in conference play.
4. 1985 Iowa - Buckeyes beat #1 at home.
5. 2001 Michigan - Tressel's promise comes true.
6. 2002 Michigan - stage is set for first NC since 1968.
7. 2003 Fiesta Bowl - another NC.

2004 The Game. I was there and appreciated not having to see Braylon Edwards, Mike Hart, and Chad Henne dance around The Shoe with roses in their mouths.

That game has a special place for me, too. I don't know if it's #1, but it's going to be up there pretty high. Prior to 2004, I had never seen Ohio State beat Michigan live. The closest I had seen was the 1992 tie. 0-4-1 up to that point.

I think I'd put the 2002 NC game #1.
#2 - probably 2002 Michigan.
#3 - probably Holy Buckeye.
#4 - I think I'll put 2004 Michigan here.
#5 - 2006 Michigan

It's not #1 for me either, but the obvious ones have been listed several times.

2009 Penn State was also pretty satisfying as the cult had been getting too big for their britches with all the smack talk about Pryor from the previous game, and they were flaunting their "Spread HD" offense as some revolutionary system.

2009 was before my understanding (if you could call it "understanding") of the cult. But I'd agree that any win over Penn State since 2005 ranks up there pretty high for me. In general, I'd put any generic win over Michigan #1, and Penn State #2.

2003 NC - game of the century...so far

2002 tsun - I was in school in the early 90s and lived through Coop. I was trained for a collapse like pavlovs dog

2014 sugar bowl- no one gave us a chance

2006 tsun (got to see it live)

2001 tsun - the new Sherriff delivered, and on the road. Brought on over a decade of weasel heartbreak.
