More proof that AOL sucks

Just saw, for the umpteenth time, the AOL commercial with the guy briefing the auditorium fulls of worried adults on how AOL's Security Center prevents viruses, phising, etc. In it, he says spy-ware slows browsing up to 500%. Uh, dumbass, the most you can slow something down is 100% (complete stop). Fucking computer company doesn't even know basic math...

if a page is supposed to load in 1 sec and loads in 5 secs isn't that 500% slower?

No. For example, if the page loads in 1 second at 1Mbps, then the speed that would take 5 seconds for that same page would 200kbps, or 20% of of the higher rate.

I thought the same thing at first, but realized that AOL is run by a bunch of morons who can't do one damn thing right other than con clueless webusers into using their services.
