All I know is I had a conversation with my Buckeye Tree, and it was mighty pissed. I'd expect Ohio State to change it's mascot in the very near future, I'm thinking "The Ohio State Nice, Very Concerned For Your Feelings People."


The Mascot can be an image of .... well, actually, it's best if there is no mascot.

I also hear due to people being alarmed at the competitive nature of football (and all sports) and the violence it breeds in children, future press releases and newscasts regarding games will proceed, in their entirety, as follows:

"Today, Ohio State played [insert school]. They had a lot of fun, and both teams have a great feeling of accomplishment and sportsmanship."

The Buckeye tree can be proud. It flowers in Spring, provides shelter for birds and squirrels and can be used as firewood to keep us warm in winter.

On the other hand the wolverine isw (a) the largest member of the weasel family (b) an animal that eats its young. Would you want to go to a school that choose a kid eating weasel for its mascot?
