What I was saying is that more or less, he was taking a bunch of snaps every game all season. I found it interesting and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, that he was suddenly giving up more big plays at the end of the season that at the beginning. Hell, former football players and analysts said the same thing and said they didn't blame him for doing it along with many other star college football players with hopes of a high first-round pick in the NFL draft. I can't say I blame him if he actually was doing it, and only a select few very close to him even know for sure. I was just stating from a fan's standpoint that's how it looked to me, and how it looked to a lot of great football minds on the side. Not once did I ever comment on his running of routes so I don't think that's valid.martinss01 said:thats a pretty big statement to make about a guy who on several occasions played more than 100 snaps in his career at tOSU. he bit on a good route against wisky. thats what happens when you play man. you wanna put your guys on an island? go for it! but understand that no matter how good the guy is he will get beat from time to time. by your definition doss without question took the nc game in 02 off as he clearly got tourched on miami's first td. god only knows how many games winfield "took off" as he rarely had picks.
gamble played cb like a wr, not a cb. he could play the position because he was increadibly talented. not because he was well versed in his role on defense. its like compairing teddy ginn's wr skills with holmes and saying teddy "takes plays off" because he doesn't run perfect routes. its just not a fair statement.
