Mo Leadership and Secrets

The talent is here...we just need the leadership to keep players focused and under control.
i disagree, leadership is an interesting thing. great organ-eye-zations have great leadership up and down, it wont be sr leadership it will be leadership amongst all groups and all players. leadership is not always done from the front screaming i am a leader. leadership at the back working with the weaker aspects, working at each function, each position each age group. all of these kids were leaders to some extent in hs and all need to step up and play. this is a rosey view but one i believe in. leadership is only as strong as the weakest link in the entire chain. you can have steel rings but if you have tin foil rings where will the chain break, or does it matter where it happens rather than if it happens...

Not a secret anymore, you just went and told everybody

Shhhh, it's still in the rumor mill!

I think these guys can do something special this year. Well, uhh.. special-er this year. We've been kinda spoiled with success lately I suppose. We have plenty of seniors on both sides of the ball. None of these guys have ever lost to Michigan. The juniors don't know any other bowl game except championships. I think there's some value to that. However, I also think that their biggest obstacle now is overcoming complacency, anxiety, and the pressure of success. It's cliche, but I think that'll be the case now more than in previous years.

There was a distinct lack of leadership in the NC game once things started going south, with a lot of finger-pointing at each other after LSU scored those 21 points in the second quarter. No matter what leadership you have amongst the rank and file, you will still always need a few central leaders. It doesn't have to be a senior to be the main leader (remember Clarett calling people out in fall practice in 2002 when he was a true freshman), but one or two clear leaders that help the other leaders.

Are we assuming that the foil rings have an equal cross section to the steel rings? And there was nothing said there about heat treating. What is going on there? We need specs. You can't just go talking about a chain all willy nilly like that.

after what transpired subsequently, it feels kinda strange to look back and say Clarett provided leadership, but he did, I remember distinctly that he was very vocal about needing to work harder etc.

I agree with this completely.

You are dead right. Shame he was never a Buckeye.
