MNF: Titans at Texans(-4.5)

Vince Young is one of a kind....his scarmbling ability vs. Mike Vick's aren't even comparable b/c Vince has an accurate arm....not to mention he'll plow your ass if you give him an angle. Guy is just unparrelled in his style/ability.

Chris Johnson said after they started 0-6, they'd win every game left and make the playoffs. I'm not saying they will do that, but since Vince has been inserted as starter, and they are gaining confidence, I would not be surprised to see them make a run at it....that is a good football team.

Just happy for Vince mostly...kid has laways been a player...IMO, it just took things like the Wildcat and other college elements to enter the NFL for coaches to open their mind to new-age schemes used in college ball. The option and run plays called for Vince have kept the secondaries honest. Not to mention the guy can flat out throw the ball. His throwing motion has always seemed pretty fluid to me, but he seems to understand the defenses better. He looked money tonight...
I think their D is still suspect. Especially through the air.

But Vince is running quite the offense right now. He is their 3rd down conversion guy.

Interesting to see some read-option and even the regular option tonight. Dangerous with Young/Johnson running it.

Agree with everything you say. It's absolutely shocking to me to hear these commentators state Vince is now dangerous and they haven't seen anything like it......do they not remember his rookie year in which he led them to the playoffs? Why don't people remember that?

Short term memories I guess.....Vince is a freakin' beast. Spy him if you want,he'll beat ypur spy. Spy him if you want, he'll find an open receiver. The guy isn;t traditional, but he will beat you all night. With growing confidence, this team becomes an AFC powerhouse. Too bad they started 0-6.

Wait till next year.

I'm going a little out to left field with this, but it's something that I've thought about. Also, I'll preface it with the statement that it is probably rated anywhere from "unlikely" to "highly unlikely", but I'll bring it up nonetheless.

I was hardly worried about Terrelle Pryor leaving short of his 4 years of eligibility, but with VY showing some sustained success running this kind of offense, could Pyror's draft status shoot up enough to warrant him leaving after next season?

What Pryor did this November is exactly what Young has been doing since his return to the #1 QB spot. Think about a Pryor that now gets around 40 days to practice before a big Rose Bowl matchup, plus a full Spring and Summer heading into his Junior campaign. I'm still unsure what kind of offense the Buckeyes end up settling with next year, because while they will surely be loaded at RB, they still possess one of college football's biggest weapons and a potentially great WR corp. I'm thinking a lot of runs for the RBs, with some option, read-option, and the perfectly timed pass. The perfect recipe that a potential NFL GM may be looking for if VY shows continued success. Pryor's junior year, while not overwhelmingly great in terms of statistics, may be the perfect job interview for potential employers.

Again, unlikely, but I couldn't help but picture TP doing exactly what VY did tonight.

People hate the comparisions, but they're there, at least to these eyes.

Vince Young appears to have matured as a passer and game manager. That makes his legs more dangerous. The addition and emergence of Chris Johnson also helps a ton. Young is dynamic, but you can't run those kind of plays with Chris Brown or LenDale White at RB.

I responded to a similar notion in another thread just a moment ago. I don't think we'll see it happen - at least not that way. There have only been two or three "dual-threat" QBs ever drafted in the first round as underclassmen, and all of them led their college team to an undefeated regular season at one point or another. In other words, there are a ton of "dual-threat" QBs out there who never get drafted that high on their potential alone - the few that have had produced big results on the field in college - bigger than what Pryor has been able to do so far. If Pryor does leave early and get drafted high, it will be on the strength of an excellent performance in 2010, not because of his potential.

Also, calling Pryor "dual-threat" at this point might be a bit of a stretch. He needs to prove he can beat good teams on a consistent basis with his arm - something that Vince Young eventually did in college and did tonight against the Texans.
