Body slam? It was a tackle, and he was in the process of finishing the play as the whistles blew. What this gets you are needless penalties for players doing what they've been taught to do since they were 8 years old - or you get the opposite play where a defender eases up thinking they might blow the play dead and they don't want to draw one of these dumbass penalties. Big guys like Toothlisberger can walk right out of one of those and convert a third down or throw a TD pass - all because QBs aren't treated like the rest of the players on the field. Let's face it - if Thomas made that play on Fred Jackson instead of the QB we're not talking about this. The league is overprotective of QBs to a fault - even the crappy ones.
