I'm thinking about subscribing to mlb.tv so I can catch games in the afternoons while I'm at work. Anyone have a subscription to this service and watched a game yet? The A/V looks pretty good to me ... it would sure as hell beat watching the JavaCasts on CBS Sportsline, MLB.com, or ESPN Game Tracker.

The ability to go back into the MLB archive and watch old games sounds like a very cool feature too. Any thoughts?

it probably uses the same technology that cbs used during the tourney. i watched a couple games on cbssportsline.com and the quality was pretty good. you could tell what was going on. i hooked it up to my TV and it looked pretty darn good up there too.

how much does it cost?

I just think it would be incredible to sit in my office, watch the video on one monitor, follow the pitch-by-pitch tracker and real-time stats via Sportsline on another monitor, and listen to the homer play-by-play on 700-WLW over my radio.

I get the MLB audio every year, it has always worked pretty well. I can only get WLW occasionally down here.

what do you do?

I help make sure your <strike>junk</strike> targeted mail is properly delivered to you. I manage the IT department -- or rather, I AM the IT department -- for a mail list data processing company in central Ohio. I build and maintain systems that have over 200 million US mailing addresses in them. The company I'm with also writes point of sale software.

For the most part, my day consists of monitoring server availability, rotating back-up tapes and hard drives, fixing printers and workstations, and making sure our Internet connection works with 24/7 reliability.

I'm highly skilled at sitting at my desk and making sure the Internet still works.

thats what i was training to do for our local ISP....untill i got a better offer at a shittier job.
