MLB General Discussion (Official Thread)

Kyle Schwarber just went off on Angel Hernandez, and it's about time. Hernandez is awful at calling balls and strikes, and frustrated both teams all night.

There have been 26 strike outs and 1 run scored, largely because this clown is calling strikes that no one could actually hit. He's the poster child for automated strike zones.

He is the guy who will get it brought to MLB.

Ironically enough, of all major sports I still watch, MLB umpires in the field are the very best. They rarely miss anything and it's happening at such high speeds you can't even fault them when they get a tag over turned or something. Just automate the strike zones.

As bad as Hernandez is, Eric Gregg (RIP) was an absolute legend. That he was working an NLCS game at all remains a mystery.

Thats just pathetic. Referees and umpires just cant stand not being in the spotlight.

I think it's just obviously very difficult to get right consistently because they almost always get the plays in the field right.

They'll have this automated (balls and strikes) sooner rather than later imo.

Maddening in the meantime though.
