the rumor was Silva was going to fight Chuck whether he won or lost that fight. It just was easier for UFC to get away from it when he was beat by Crocop.
Exactly. No matter how bad Chuck wants to fight Silva, Dana White does not want the public to see their prize fighter lose to a relatively unknown to the American public, thus bringing more attention to Pride.

Exactly. Dana knows it a matter of time before he can pick and chose what he wants from pride. No need for him to rush. Pride is the one thats desperate to get going in the US. What was Silva last fight in the octagon? It wasn't the beating he took from Vitor was it? If so, no wonder he'd rather stay in the ring with stomping allowed.

I didn't think that was his last fight. Just the one everyone in UFC wants you to remeber. I wouldnt pick Tito in a rematch, thats for sure.
Silva entered the UFC on October 16, 1998, at UFC Brazil: Ultimate Brazil, in a match against Vitor Belfort. The match has arguably been Silva's worst defeat in his career, before his loss at the hands of Mirko "Cro Cop" in September 2006, lasting only 44 seconds and ended with Silva being knocked out by Belfort's punches. Silva won his next UFC match on May 7, 1999, at UFC 20 where he knocked out Tony Petarra by knees. On April 14, 2000, Silva was given a chance to fight for the UFC Middleweight Championship, but lost via decision to Tito Ortiz at UFC 25: Ultimate Japan 3.

Yep, I double checked it. Tito in 2000. Tito is my favorite fighter, that said I don't need to see that rematch....:wink2:

Ex-OSU wrestler Sean Salmon fought Rashad Evans in the main event tonight and was KO'd by a vicous leg kick to the left side of his head. EMS had to take him out of the ring and he seemed to be very, very seriously injured. Prayers go out to him tonight.

Whoa...I watched that fight too but turned it off right after the kick. Didn't see any of the post-fight coverage. Hope he's Ok...That was as brutal a high kick as I've seen in MMA. He also took a hard punch while he was out cold on the ground before the ref could get in there...Get well Sean...

Rashad Evans is nastyyyyy. One of the best up and commers out there in my opinion.

He lost the first round IMO, but when you got that kind of power and quickness, you are never out of the fight...
