Ronnie Williams wasn't supposed to taste freedom for nearly five decades, but a mistake in his prison records sprang the violent felon in less than two months.
His three-day vacation ended Monday afternoon, when Indianapolis police arrested Williams, 24, at a house near Geist Reservoir.
Now Indiana prison officials are reviewing why a 94-year sentence handed down in February for attempted murder and robbery never made it into his computer records.
It's not clear what caused the omission. But the lapse smoothed the way for his girlfriend to bail him out of Hamilton County Jail on Friday, the same day he was transferred there to face a pending charge.
