To all the former Bucknuts superstars (Mili, Clarity and yes, even Tibor...) your presence has been sorely missed at the Bnuts site. It just hasn't been the same. I just wanted to tell you guys that I'm glad that I found this site and look forward to getting up to date on your musings about tOSU. Also, I'm not rich, but if you guys still need donations for this web site let me know, I'd be happy to help out!
Welcome aboard. With the current rate of new users over here, I think we're going to have some great football chatter going when the season starts. I ran a quiet little fundraiser about a month and a half ago to help drive some of the programming we're having done. I may do another one this Fall. It's just important everyone knows that it's purely a low-key, low-profile process that won't impact anyone's experience on the board. Well, beyond the new features. lol.
With so many new folks over here over the last few days, I'll take the easy way out and just say 'hi' to all of you in this thread, and welcome each of you to the site. Whether you signed on a year ago, today, or a year from now, the biggest thing here is that we consider ourselves a true community. We don't have stated rules or standards, just don't think we need a static set. Community standards and expectations rule with a heavy lean towards free/open dialog. My notion is that if you equip people with tools that allow them to define their own experience, then you have mods and admins that use their own tools so infrequently that they have to refamiliarize themselves with them when a true flamer comes over to raise a stink. What will be interesting to see is how that applies when we have 5x, 10x, 20x the current userbase and traffic. But like everything else here, we intend to be fluid on the subject. Marines are familiar with the words "improvise, adapt and overcome", and it's an approach we'll stick to here.
That approach, and this site, won't work for everyone perhaps. But that's okay too. The more things OSU, the better, and if this place can serve to be a good resource and a great place to talk for even a few people, then it serves its purpose.
