Game Thread Minnesota 7, tOSU 38 (Oct 24, Noon, ESPN)

Good to see you back Stpaul. tOSU's offense has sucked it up pretty bad the last two games. The Wisky game was downright inept outside of two drives and the Purdue game was better in some ways but Pryor alone committed 4 TO's and the D wan't near as sharp.

What's the general feeling in Minny (as far as you can tell)? I mean, is it more like "shit, they overlooked Purdue and will now be out for blood" or "Hell, we beat Purdue, Bucks are finally going to get what's coming to them".

I read somewhere that one of your key D-linemen was out.

D-lineman out? Which one? You might be think of Cedric McKinley who was suspended for two games for unspecified team rules violation. His suspension is over. Our D-line is all healthy, and pretty deep. Our LB's are solid.

Our safeties STINK.

MN fans are pretty sure OSU will be more of the "back on track" than "spiraling into MN like mediocrity" this week.

Thankfully your offense is sputtering some...glimmers of hope?

Adam Weber has really taken huge steps backwards. His accuracy is horse sh*t, and he doesnt have good enough stats to make the top 10 passer efficiency rating IN THE CONFERENCE.

Look out for Kevin Whaley. Gophers will run a stretch or a toss, probably off RT, and if this kid gets in space it will be good for us.

Also our special teams are great.

Our offense is really sad right now. Considering that PSU had the ball for 42 minutes of the game last week (not a typo) I think our defense has done a decent job. They will give up yards but give up less points than the yards would indicate. Offense needs to stay on the field and give them a breather thoough.

We can appreciate that sentiment. Wisconsin had the ball for 42:47 two weeks ago and Purdue for 36:08 last week. We'll see if either of these offenses can sustain a drive this week.

Some gopher players to watch out for

On offense:

Decker - best in the Big Ten
Troy Stoudermire - he is our KR and unreal in space. Tressell spoke very highly of him this week.
Kevin Whaley - Small back from Virginia that runs hard. Very quick and surprisingly tough to bring down.

On defense
Lee Campbell and Nate Triplett - Both are top 5 in tackles in the conference. Campbell has two picks and a blocked FG this year.
Brandon Kirksey - Very athletic and disruptive DT, only a soph.

Decker

I have so much respect for Decker... kid is a flat out stud.

Watch the slow down portion at 45 seconds of [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtTh_FNIkP8"]this video [/ame]

I think he is the toughest player in the conference, at any position. He came back after this and caught a TD and threw a TD as well.

Thanks for the previews to all who contributed.

That's appreciated; there is pride taken in the preview efforts. One of the contributors (not me) is recovering from surgery, and he still worked on a couple of sections this week.

And I only suggested Vagisil to him once.
