Million dollar car wreck - Bugatti Veyron

any casually insurance agents on BP?

What's the yearly premium for a $1.5 million sports car? Now that he is prob. in the high risk category, what will the premium be on the next one?

How bad would you feel to be the guy that wrecked it... He's prob. still puking...

There wouldn't be a premium on the books and most regular companies wouldn't take it, both for the amount of risk and because it would be very tough to try to form a rate basis for a car so few drive. It would probably take a company that writes specialty policies, or could be self-insured.

You're prob. correct... however you did state one of the funnier insurance terms... self-insure... anybody else find the term mildly ironic...

I would guess you could lump all the ultra high end sports cars into one group to determine a "per $1,000" rate, then apply the rate to the actual insurance the client wants to pay for (maybe up to 90% of the purchase value), and don't offer replacement options.

Bugatti is going to make a drop-top version now... starting at 2.2 million. Top speed with the roof open drops from 253 to 229mph. Make sure your hat is on snug

Lloyds of London. They will insure anything....for a price!

from a blog.......
"Sometimes its hard to find an insurer for an exotic vehicle, I had the same trouble with a Pantara, a few years ago, so I asked my business partner and he told me about Lloyds of London that has a division that handles exotic cars, collections and antique vehicles."

"I got full coverage for the vehicle, costing me about $1,250 a month, but when you consider the original cost of the car, the full coverage insurance is well worth the high monthly payments." (this is a on a $40,000 car.)
