Wiscy's on the ropes. Down 66-61, just under 2 minutes left.

UNLC hit a 3 to go up 69-61, then Chris Rock got a trey and an old-fashioned 3-point play on each side of a UNLV free throw.

70-67 with 39 seconds left.

UNLV scored with 30 seconds left, and then Flowers got fouled with 24 seconds left. Missed the first, made the second.

72-68, UNLV at the line with 21 seconds left.

74-68 final.

We shamed the big ten and I think I'm going to be sick. We spot them 12 points with our predictable offense, we start to open it up and surge ahead by 5, but we run out of gas. We haven't been able to finish the last 5 minutes of games this season or get off to good starts. For as much as Bo Ryan is lauded, I think he deserves a lot of criticism. In 6 years or so as Badger coach, he has never beaten any team seeded higher than 9th in the tourney. He's too stubborn to ever make adjustments. He never runs a zone even when it's appropriate and his swing offense can't play against a zone and it's easy to gameplan against. He made a lot of dumb substitutions. We were a lot better team this year than it showed down the stretch. It had nothing to do with losing Butch. He was a non factor pretty much before his injury.

I called the UNLV "upset". My Winthrop pick isn't looking too hot right now though...

At least my SIU pick still looks good.

Kruger is a good coach and I knew a team with athletes would do Wisconsin in. Now they need to make the elite eight so my bracket stays intact...

It had little to do with athletes. Wisconsin dominated early in the 2nd half and ran out to a five point lead by taking a shot whenever a player was open, then sputtered after trying to turn the game in a grinder again by holding til late in the shot clock.

The UNLV athletes had their impact felt in the first half IMO. It was then that they built their lead that Wisconsin tired themselves out trying to erase.

I agree, I think the only bad loss for the Big Ten was Wiscy's loss. I actually had UNLV going to the sweet sixteen. Wiscy looked bad in the B10 championship vs. OSU and I figured it would carry over into the tourney. Even though OSU is the only team left, I don't think anyone can say that the Big Ten had a bad tourney though. Sent 5/6 teams to the 2nd round and from there all lost to a much higher seed (with the exception of Wisconsin).
