Figured this is best place for it since it's highly doubtful it's gaming related..

but any minute, Microsoft is about to start it's press conf for a major announcement..a tight lid has been kept, so everything has been guesses

Just did the 5-year replace cycle on my laptop; the new one is a Surface Pro 4 with 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. It's an extremely powerful laptop that will serve, in a pinch, as a tablet (still have 7-inch and 10-inch Android tablets). Have expanded storage with a 128 GB microSD card, which is much more cost-effective than buying a larger SSD in the Surface.

Nightmarish to transition all my stuff from my old W7 machine, but now that things are pretty well shaken out, I'm eager to use the new Surface full time.

I have a Surface Pro 4 for work. I hope you don't plan on using the dock and having multiple screens. It doesn't play well with it's own dock. I love how transportable it is and it's a fun toy.....but I probably shouldn't be using it as a desktop replacement during work hours.

This.

After a couple of weeks of struggle with the display options not working correctly while docked at the office (2 screens), I finally just had them buy me a tower for the office and the Surface has become my travel/personal computer now.

Sorry to hear it, guys. I'm using the same Toshiba Dynadock I used with my old laptop, and multi screens work just fine on my SP4.

Having a little trouble connecting my phone via USB using the Dynadock, but that's no thang for me with OneDrive hooked up and running.
