the one thing we found out from this game is michigan is very vulnerable and their derense hasn't really improved... even though they won, i believe we found out that they didnt make the improvements needed to be a very successful team this year

Their offense looked very good. It was a weak NIU defense, they made Henne and Avant look like Montana and Rice. The corners gave a lot of room to the recivers making them able to come down with a ton of slants.

I didn't see the game but if it's just an extension of what went on last year then no amount of scheming in the world is going to fix it. It's a talent issue thats only going to be fixed by a change in direction when recruiting defensive players.

UM is still trying to play I formation smash mouth football on O and for whatever reason puts guys on D who would be good at stopping that. The only problem is everyone is spreading them out and forcing the bigger slower players to perform out in space.

I want Carr to stay for a long time becaus his approach is straight from 1986 and as long as that type of mindset is the one steering UM's collective ship we will have an advantage over them.

I remember Pieere Woods making a comment after The game last year to the effect of "Whats all this spread stuff, I thought this was the B10. Line up and bring it." This just speaks volumes imo. They are just so out of touch they really expect teams to play UM's way when opponents are clearly having a field day exploiting their lack of team speed, poor tackeling and overall lack of athleticisim on D.

JT saw teams do this to us his first 2 years and made adjustments. We now employ a David scheme with Goliath talent while Lloyd and the UM nation sit up there clueless.

I don't care what anyone says. I am happy as hell ANYTIME Shittigan gets beat. I hope they lose every damn game from now until we play them and then WE beat the hell out of them as well :)

That sounds nice as rhetoric, but it would be a tragedy for Ohio State. Great wins aren't possible without playing great opponents, and a great rivalry isn't possible without having a great rival.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Michigan was able to stuff us on their goal line seven straight plays, yet when we chose not to run the ball right at them we marched up and down the field. They can stop any power running game in the country, because that's what they were desgined to do. Run away from them, and they are a mediocre defense at best.
