I was at the game. Maybe you saw something that I didn't, but the number of missed tackles last week by our 2nd and 3rd team defense won't translate to this week and the 1st team defense........

Actually, most of the missed tackles were by the first team, during the first half. Thay seemed to get better in the second half as they got used to chasing a 5'3" fireplug hiding behind an lineman as he ran...that's not the type of running game they'll face Saturday.

Ringers actually a pretty big dude, just not all that tall. Caulcrick is huge. I think we will be fine on defense. MSU's pass rush is what I'm interested in watching this week. Might be the first time the Oline gets tested which is very important.

Did this MSU pass rush just not show up against Northwestern or are they that much of an "up and down" team? I didn't get to see the game, but if I recall correctly, NU didn't run in for the touchdowns all that much.

To be honest, my impression of the game was that it had one of those officiating crews that won't call holding unless the person being held is tackled. This did wonders for NW's protection.

More honesty: I'm not really qualified to make that assessment. That's my opinion, but I don't consider my opinion on this subject to be of any more value than the average fan. Ok, maybe a little better than average (which is pretty bad), but not by much.
