The announcers are now talking about it openly, so I can blame them for the jinx. :tongue2:

Wimmers has a no-hitter going against TSUN. It's now 6-0 Buckeyes in the bottom of the 8th inning - on BTN right now.

Congrats to Alex Wimmers on pitching the first-ever 9-inning no-hitter for the Buckeyes!! 14 strikeouts in a 6-0 win over TSUN.

The fact that it was against the Vulvarines makes it even sweeter.

GO BUCKS!!!

Buckeyes sweep double-header from dUMb

OLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State sophomore Alex Wimmers no-hit Michigan Saturday afternoon, striking out 14 Wolverines in the process, as Ohio State took the first game of the doubleheader, 6-0. In Game 2, Ryan Dew had five hits and Dan Burkhart three RBI to lead the Buckeyes to a sweep over the Wolverines, 9-6, in front of 3,219 fans.
The wins improved 27th-ranked Ohio State?s records to 34-10 overall and 13-4 in the Big Ten Conference. The Buckeyes remain in a first-place tie with Illinois for the conference lead as the Illini have taken the first two games in their its series with Northwestern. Michigan drops to 23-21 overall and 6-11 in the Big Ten.
Wimmers, who is on the National Pitcher of the Year watch list, pitched the first nine-inning no-hitter in Ohio State history, and the ninth all-time at Ohio State. He walked four batters, but three were erased by his grade school and high school buddy Burkhart, the catcher, who threw out all three Wolverines trying to steal.

Bucks lose third game, chance at sweep

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State dropped a 9-2 decision to Michigan Saturday at Bill Davis Stadium and in the process fell out of first place in the chase for the Big Ten Conference championship. The Buckeyes are now 34-11 overall and 13-5 in the Big Ten. Michigan is 24-21 overall and 7-11 in the league.
Three unearned runs in the first inning by Michigan lulled the huge Sunday crowd of 2,525 into their seats and the Buckeyes were unable to get the fans back on their feet like they were during the Saturday sweep over Michigan.
Michigan starter Eric Katzman, who improved to 7-4 with the win, was solid on the mound. The junior left-hander worked 5.0 innings and gave up just one run off four hits. Throwing pitches from a variety of angles, Katzman kept the Buckeyes from gaining any rhythm in the batter?s box. As a result, Ohio State left eight runners on base through Katzman's five innings and 13 for the game.
