Maize N Brew joins us to break down the 2017 Wolverines

Regardless of what you think of Jim Harbaugh’s antics, there is no denying that he has Michigan Football in the best place its been in at least a decade. The Wolverines have won 10 games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2002-03, broke a program record with 11 players taken in the 2017 NFL Draft, and have the seventh highest blue-chip ratio in the nation heading into this season. While Harbaugh has yet to win a Big Ten title, he at least has the program a long way removed from these days.

Another thing he hasn’t done? Beat Ohio State. Harbaugh is 0-2 against the Buckeyes, including last year’s thriller, which we should take a moment to remember right quick:

While that game will be remembered for The Spot being good, it also serves as a reminder to Michigan on how close they were to finally beating the Buckeyes.

On this episode of the Hangout in the Holy Land, Maize N Brew’s Anthony Broome discusses the importance of beating Ohio State, why he thinks this is the year it happens, and everything about the 2017 Wolverines, including:

  • Why the team’s youth makes projecting this season tough.
  • The next step in Quarterback Wilson Speight’s development.
  • Whether UM’s defensive identity (read: attack the hell out of everything) will remain the same with so many new pieces involved.
  • Expectations for the season, and more!
