Different time frame also and what mffler states is why Tressel does. To each it's own. So I quess making fun of :scum: when they lost to Appy State alot of us should ask for forgiveness cause :scum: is a Big Ten Team

I'm not saying I don't enjoy scUM's misery, but I enjoy putting it to the national media when the time is ripe.

How does this affect us this year? For next year it doesnt matter, If we win out after beating USC we should be a shoe in... and we play Wisky, Illinois, scUM and Penn next year so nobody should sneak by in conference either.

Not really. The perception that the Big Ten is the new MAC has to be put to rest now. The only way to do that is on the field. If Big Ten teams fail to do that on the field, then our preseason rank could be biased downward by pollsters.

We need the conference to win its bowls convinncingly and to take care of business in the OOS next year. Otherwise, we will find ourselves fighting the "but they don't play anybody" argument and it might cost us the NC game, as it may very well do this year.

Put me down as one who is rooting for every bowl eligible Big 10 team.

Might shut the media up about how weak the conference is.

I'll agree except for openly "rooting" for Michigan. Now, I will "hope" they win in a "it would be great if our conference won as many games as possible during the bowl season" sort of way, but I'll be damned if I'm in front of the TV openly cheering them on. I will for every other Big Ten team (yes, even Illinois), but not for Michigan.

Oh I agree, But to me and alot of others I know

We don't give a damm about the whole state of Michigan

I went to school at Eastern Michigan (five minutes east of the Whore). Trust me, I HATE 'em. I just root for them in Bowl Games, because it makes the Big Ten and tOSU look better.

We can agree to disagree. Point is done.

Back to the thread at hand, Mike Hart is a bitch that just wasn't good enough against the Bucks!!!

Let me just add to that, I want our guys to destroy TSUN every year. But, I want TSUN to come into The Game every year with the hope of a NC and Big Ten crown and I want them to win their bowl game so that they know exactly who Daddy really is.

Mili and I are in complete agreement. I want them to win only because it is in our interest. I don't want to sit and watch them or root for them. Just tell me their arriving at the station on time and I'll schedule the silver bullets that derail the bastards.

I just hope Michigan doesn't draw a SEC team, epsecially Florida because then I would be forced to actually root for Florida. I hate UM to root for them regardless of who they play..... If that were the case I'd want Florida to win like 6-3 or something :)

I will definately root for the rest of the Big Ten though to help show the world we are underated not overated.

Conference comparisons seem more based on fanciful opinions when you really look at the statistics. The much respected SEC loses to the ACC and the SunBelt and are still hyped. By far the most important things costing OSU our standings for the NC are our own 2 losses in the last 2 years. We are the class of the Big 10 and are expected to win out no matter how good our competition is. We need to handle our games and the rest will fall into place. We need USC to look good in a bowl and next year as much as we need the Big 10. If USC smashes scUM in the Rose and we beat USC next year it would probably look better to the voters than another win against a rebuilding scUM... at home.

Even if the Big 10 dominates the bowls Im not sure it will help. scUM looks to be in a serious rebuilding year, Penn looks lost and Wisky will lose half of their offense and their senior QB,. That means they'll be ranked lower no matter what. Lets say we shut out our opponent this year and then lost Ghoulston, Jenkins and Animal to the draft (God forbid)... we'll drop pretty bad in pre-season too.
