  • what a homer job by the refs... thought I was watching a game at Walsh or CCC... cost the Zips a Bowl Bid... else I wouldn't give a shit...

with 30 seconds left, MSU kicked an onside.. the refs threw a flag for procedure... to cover their bases in case Hawaii didn't recover...

Slick, I may have watched you get homered in both those stadiums... :sad2:
    ----------------------------------
"DeAndra Cobb had a 98-yard touchdown return called back because of a block-in-the-back penalty. Earlier in the game, Cobb had a 75-yard TD run negated by a holding penalty. "Anytime you have that many called back, it's going to decide the game," Spartans coach John L. Smith said. "I can't talk about it too much other than it was a deciding factor."

Stanton said penalties cost Michigan State the game.

The Spartans were flagged 16 times, including seven for holding, for 119 yards. The Warriors were penalized five times for 35 yards.

"It seemed like (the referees) wanted them to win," Stanton said. "No doubt about it, they're a good football team and they deserve to go to a bowl game, but I don't think it should happen this way."

I played against Vrabel at Walsh and had about 80 yds rushing and about 150 passing and we got beat (without much help from the refs, but they are notorious). He whirly-birded me a couple times.

Our D was never able to stop other teams from rushing; or passing if they were any good at that. We were 5-5 my Jr, and Sr (92,93) years; both seasons starting out 4-0 and getting ranked high until we played somebody who was bigger.

MY OL averaged about 205 lbs, and 5'9". MY TE was my biggest weapon and lineman at 6'3" 225.

via an article from a sports reporter last week who felt Akron got hosed by being the only bowl eligible team that didn't get an invite... "Michigan State was flagged 16 times for 119 yards in penalties by the Western Athletic Conference officials and had two long touchdowns called back. WAC member Hawaii was flagged five times for 35 yards."
