Metrosexual question of the day

Now there is a visual I didn't need, and you're calling Kinch gay?

BTW, why do you always post in bold??
No I'm not calling Kinch gay, that was taken out of context.

As a young adult male who is very secure with his masculinity and dating probably the hottest girl on the entire Ohio University campus (objective of course, but it's a solid argument I feel  ), I will stand up for Kinch a bit and say that the super machismo of this board flares up in extremes from time to time. It's part of the culture of course...being a football board and I love it for that...it kills me. But nonetheless, I find it perplexing how it's gay to take care of yourself...but you know, there's always going to be a fine line. For example tanning and eyebrow waxing for guys...that's ridiculous. And I personally have never had a pedicure or manicure, but I get my hair cut at a salon for a whopping $17 every month or so, but it's worth it to me.

I had the traditional "fade" haircut that every other male has walking around this planet for 8 years or so and can't go back. Heck, the first thing my girlfriend said to me when we met was that she loved my hair...so I guess originality gets you bonus points once in a while. It's just that I saw 7,000 frat boys in all my time at OU and they honestly looked like clones and the haircut was the quintessential piece to this belonging. I won't look like that...I refuse. :) I am more than a haircut (how hiarliously serious does that sound?)...but hey, if I can please the lady with a flash of individuality, I'm all for it. WOW...this turned into a book of a post.

i guess it depends if you want some style or you just want your hair buzzed/clipped...............as far as manicures/pedicures go, i've had both done several times, but only because that's what my wife did for a living for a while, spa services......it's not something i would have sought out........i will say though, some of the guys that would come to her to get manicures, i wouldn't even think about calling them gay, for fear of getting my ass kicked.......atleast from what i've seen, you might be surprised what kind of guy likes to take care of his hands

When you've got hair as thick and dense as mine, barbers don't seem to have any idea how to cut it. I could get a buzz or a bowl or something from them, but with my haircut barbers tend to shape it strangely. They shape it evenly but it tends to be faded too high.

Anyway I get my haircut every 2 months or so (that will change when I get out of college and have a hair salon I like near where I live... currently my favorite is at home so I often wait for breaks.

I think SIMV can attest to the fact that despite going to a salon I'm pretty far from being a well manicured boy :) While I'm in school with a fiancee 2 hours away, I'm gonna enjoy not shaving or gel my hair until I feel like it. I've got the rest of my life to look nice for work and such.

I have a barber shop in my back yard (literally), so I walk back there once a month or so, drop $10 and check out the latest in "men's literature" and get the mop cut.

Never had a manicure or pedicure though.

Shame you can't fly Alan, with those talons plucking sheep from the herd would be possible.

See-- I'm not sure that's true.

Finding a good barber is tricky... but if you think "Saturday's Family Hair Care" is A. a Salon, or B. Better... I think there's an issue... those chicks can be a nightmare... and mostly,to me... the difference is 10 bucks.

No... I've spent 45 bucks to get me hair cut.. and it was pretty good... and I've spent 7 bucks on a butchery. But I normally go to a barber in Columbus... which incidentally is not far away, but there are also at least 6 closer to my house... Does a nice job.. does what you ask for... twelve bucks.

Funny thing is though.. When I was growing up, I used to go to the barber.... and he'd do it too "Richie Cunnigham" which I though was dorky (the guy was old)... so I started going to my Mom's shop... then that chick started doing it too foofy (also, the bitch tried to leave a small mullet intact... )... and so when we all went "Top Gun" on the hair cuts... I went back to the old barber guy, but instructe him to leave the Thinning scissors on the stand... me and that old dude had it worked out for a while.

i used to go to the barbershop to get it cut, great place in Alliance, then we moved to Atown and i can't find a decent place at all, so i'm the 10.99 guy at famous hair, the cut sucks and they are never the same, sometimes it looks ok, sometimes i look like the 3rd grader that played with scissors.

My wife wanted me to go to the salon she goes to, so she made an appointment for me to get my hair cut while she was getting her nails done. I was a little hesitant at first but I've been going there for over a year now. Getting your hair washed by a nice looking woman is worth the price itself.

Only gay men are allowed to cut my hair.

Geez, that's sounds exactly like my wife. She's been following the same "stylist" around to different salons for years. Price goes up each time too. That's OK though, it's like getting an extra "card" to play sometime in the future.

Her: "You want to do what?"
Me: "What's the name of your 'stylist' again?"
Her: "Have fun dear."

Me - Neighborhood Barber - 11.00
Same barber for about 10 years. No need for talk. He knows how to cut it and that's that.
No finger or toenail treatments. I've got nail clippers for God's sake.
