Mentos and 2 Litres of Pop

Has anyone tried this? I've seen it before but can't remember if it was posted here. We are going to do this during our Noon Newscast to see what happens.

There was a big article about all of these videos (there are hundreds on the web, Thank You Al Gore) in a recent WSJ. There is a big one two guys made after seeing another one on the web that was not as complex. It looks like the fountains at Bellagio. Mentos is embracing the videos and Coke is trying to distance themselves from them.

PS If there is a reporter you do not like have him/her drink some Diet Coke and eat a bunch of Mentos!

that's exactly why we are doing it... we are running a story about it and then we'll have the Anchors and an intern doing it themselves from out on the patio of the station.... should be interesting.

if you slide a whole pack on Mentos into a 2 litre of pop it will instantly shoot the pop out of the bottle and into the air like a fountain.

dumped 13 mentos from a test tube into a 2 liter...

the contents shot straight up in a 6'-10' geyser.

It was probably only 6', but the camera angle made it look like more.

it went well... everyone survived. we did two 2 Litres... the first one even had a "bottle cam" on the side to catch the explosion

Maybe I'll take it off the DVR and put it on youtube
