Men's Basketball Buckeye Tidbits 2005-2006 Season

I know I read that Lighty was bigger than last year, so I checked his thread and Scout did an article that lists him at 6'6 215lbs. I doubt he that big, but I've heard him listed at 205 which would make him bigger than Big 10 ready Ron Lewis. By the way, the scout article is post #229 in Lighty's thread.

So you're with me in thinking that Lighty needs to significantly bulk up to be considered Big 10 ready?

I wouldn't use the word 'significantly', but my imression was that he was the least ready of the four incoming players I have seen. Not a bean pole by any means, but certainly not a banger. In fariness, he is still coming back from the knee injury and was a bit tentative when I saw him and still wearing a heavy knee brace. I didn't see any strong moves to the hoop on his part - but I credited Cook and Pogue with much of that.

Lighty is still recovering from his knee injury at this point. I think next year with an off season to weight train and strengthen that knee he will be back to being explosive. I really like Lighty and I think he is being overlooked a bit. Cook needs to add some weight, but has the frame to get it done. Hunter has a Big Ten body already and so does Oden obviously. Conley needs to get stronger in my opinion.
