Gene Fekete 84-yard TD run vs Pitt in 1942
For many years, this was listed as an 89-yard TD run in the Ohio State record books, which would make it the longest TD run (or any run from scrimmage) in Ohio State history. Based on the video footage shown above, which indicates that the play began on the 16-yard line, Fekete's legendary run was reduced to 84 yards, which places it fifth in Ohio State history:
1. 88 yards, Morris Bradshaw vs Wisconsin in 1971
2. 87 yards, Eddie George vs Minnesota in 1995
3. 86 yards, J.T. Barrett vs Minnesota in 2014
4. 85 yards, Ezekiel Elliott vs Alabama in 2014
5. 84 yards, Gene Fekete vs Pitt in 1942
NOTE: Daniel Herron's 89-yard run vs Michigan in 2010 has been stricken from Ohio State's official record book because Herron was subsequently deemed ineligible due to his participation in the Tatgate scandal.
