Four-star Maryland prospect DeJuan Williams received the offer from running backs coach Tony Alford on Tuesday, becoming the 11th running back the Buckeyes have offered in the class.

Just sayin': Coach Alford should tell him it is THEE Ohio State University.....

I'll chalk it up to excitement, if he winds up in Columbus I am sure Alford will fix that :)

Interesting situation with Peoples etc.
I’m not sure I understand your comment…there’s no question the staff wants two RB’s this cycle. I believe Peoples is in. As in, very soon…so the staff needs to find the best RB who is willing to be RB2 this cycle. If that’s Williams or SWD or someone else. Was hoping it would be Peoples and Marshall but that was always a pipe dream. It almost feels like the staff wants to see how SWD plays against tougher competition this year before accepting a commitment from him. Idk, just my thought.

The staff doesn't want to be burned like in the '23 class. Keep pursuing options until they sign. And like what @bucknut502 said, with Peoples almost in the class they need to find another RB for the class. Especially with the rumors that the staff is looking at SWD at more of an ATH than just a RB. So there could be 3 RBs in 2024, with SWD being able to play RB/WR/DB

I would concur this feels more like an RB2 offer and who knows if we get 3 potential RBs this cycle (if SWD is being looked at more as an ATH). On SWD, I get the same vibe that the staff wants to see him against better competition before both sides pull the trigger. So in the meantime might as well cast a wide net with guys like Williams because we do need numbers at the position in this cycle.

Not to completely hijack this thread, but I wonder if the staff likes what Xavier Johnson did so much that they view SWD as someone who could be that in the future. Just a thought that came to mind when I read your last sentence.
