2026 MD OL Immanuel Iheanacho (Oregon Verbal)

Ohio State strong contender for Immanuel Iheanacho

Sure, you’re all waiting on an important decision from a five-star offensive tackle in the 2025 class on Saturday, but can we interest you in an update on the No. 2 tackle in the 2026 class?

Per On3, both Ohio State and Oregon are standing out early to five-star Maryland prospect Immanuel Iheanacho. Iheanacho visited both programs over the summer. His OSU visit was in June when he worked out with Justin Frye at a recruiting camp.

“Ohio State and Oregon made great first impressions,” Iheanacho told On3. “They both have been recruiting me hard, so getting on campus and meeting the coaches was nice.

“I got to see how they do things at Ohio State. I like coach Ryan Day a lot, I learned a lot from coach Justin Frye and it was good to see how they do it there. It is a school I knew some things about, but I learned a lot more. I love how they have to earn things there. They work hard and I liked working with coach coach Frye. He is a great teacher and I learned a lot. They have a lot of tradition and it is in a great area. It was a great trip and I will be back.”

Immanuel is expected to visit Ohio State again, possibly for a gameday trip sometime this fall. The 6-foot-7, 345-pound prospect will likely commit next summer before the start of his senior season.

Wonder if Coach Mick trotted out his before and after pictures of the original Big Thanos, Dwand? Don't really know if tOSU's workout platform is as big and shiny as others, but certainly will get the job done. Plenty of corollaries between these two, certainly. We'll see how things develop. Go Bucks! PS, would certainly like to see/hear how the '26 OL recruits (from Ohio) are being recruited/treated.

That’s like an hour drive during rush hiur. The traffic in this area is legendary
It's not all that crazy. I have a little cousin who lived in Bowie, MD and went to Archbishop Spaulding in Severn, MD, his friend down the street from him went to Montrose Christian, all 20-25m away. But yeah, traffic easily makes it close to an hour one way. DMV traffic still gives me nightmares
