McNabb once again getting racial crap....

a) Donovan doesn't scramble as much as this expert would like, whose expertise is evidenced by his role... as a newspaper publisher.

b) Donovan responds that not all black qbs have to scramble (a stereotype that is alive and well...)... which sounds an awful lot like fighting a stereotype

c) and then gets run down by this no-talent hack for reinforcing the stereotype?

did I miss something? the fragmented story may be the reason I am confused, but I have a feeling I am just overlooking the remarkable stupidity of this entire drama

Holy crap is all I can say...sounds like the guy from the NAACP is basically saying that because McNabb doesn't run anymore, he's not black? WTF? So every black QB has to play football in entirely the same way? If that's not patent racism...I don't know what is, and I don't care who says it.

And where are his comments about Daunte, or Leftwich, neither of whom run much either?

Without reading the guy's original article, the best I can piece together is that this columnist is criticizing McNabb for attributing his reduced scrambling to a desire to avoid the black QB stereotype when really it is because of diminished skills.

Quite bizarre.

Apparently the writer has called McNabb a "sellout" for "turning against his race" by not scrambling as much anymore. He thinks that McNabb isn't running anymore because he does not want to be a "black" QB, even though that is something McNabb has been and always will be. I guess McNabb trying to throw more in the pocket and adjust his game is a violation against his race and culture :roll2: .

I saw this on Outside The Lines last night, and the whole comments made by the NAACP guy were ridiculous. They had a clip of Charles Barkley saying that "That is exactly what is screwed up with the black community. We are starting to turn against ourselves. Just because a guy doesn't go out and 'act a fool' a lot blacks start to think that the guy is selling out his race and not being a 'real' african american."

I thought Barkley made a very valid point, but of course it takes him to say it because if any white guy dared to make the same claims, his ass would be fired, on TV, rioted against, making apologies in press conferences, and pretty much shunned from society for being a "racist".

Just think of the shit storm if the writer had been white...

There's plenty of shitstorm anyway.

NAACP an embarrassment? Well, if they've got assholes like this running the show, yeah.

There's not a sound assertion in the thing... other than the guy is clearly a pissed off Eagles fan... go boo Santa Claus.

Don't even mention that McNabb had a sports hernia since the first game of the season and shouldn't have been playing at all. This writer is one of the biggest ass clowns I've ever seen and has been getting ripped on by everyone who has any clue about sports ever since this article came out.
Wait I called him an ass clown, does that make me a racist?

The NAACP guy is clearly out of line, but it seems like a "comes around goes around" thing to me. I thought McNabb was out of line when he accused Limbaugh of racism, so maybe now he'll think twice about throwing those accusations around. But I doubt it. Have a nice off-season, Donovan.
