Istanbul Turkey

I was there this summer (June 2012), on one main street in Istanbul there was a McDonalds and a Burger King; and a couple doors away there was a Burger Turk....

I didn't eat there; but wondered if they sold lamb and/or goat burgers in lieu of beef.

Beef is common (no pork, obviously) but I bet some lamb burger would be awesome. We (wife and I) were there in March. Great vacation even if we had terrible weather.

I would've had to try it, and order a bacon cheeseburger.

In South America they have McWine..

In Ecuador they had armed guards shoo-ing out beggars. If you ate at McDonald's you were obviously rich. It was also the only place (aside from the mall) that could break an American $20. Ecuador switched to the dollar in 2000.

But at McDonald's in Japan:

The Asian love affair with pork doesn?t stop at breakfast time. Japanese restaurants take the sausage patties used in before-10am offerings, smother them in a spicy/sweet sauce, and slap ?em on a lunchtime bun with lettuce and onions. The result? Simple, porky goodness, at just over a dollar.

More unique menu items available in other countries: http://www.nileguide.com/blog/2010/06/09/strange-mcdonalds-menu-items-around-the-world/

I've been multiple times. One of my employers preferred hotels for travel to Akron/Cleveland is over off of Rockside Road and 77. All of Independence looks like that, they have some statute about building aesthetics before they give you a permit to build.

Apparently the strip mall Melt is in is exempt from that code. But then again, it's Melt so they deserve exemptions.

Wish my hard drive was functioning and I could post pics of Kabul and Halai Fried Chicken. It looks exactly like KFC but it is a rip off.

The McDonalds in Germany are actually good. I haven't eaten at an American McDonalds in 7-8 years but I don't mind the German ones. There are laws here that outlaw for instance High Fructose Corn Syrup and preservatives. It makes the food much better.

My wife swears the French McDonalds are better than the German ones. She says the fries are better, something about the cooking oil. I personally thinks she's nuts though.

I don't frequent the McDonalds here in Baumholder but some days I'm not in the mood to cook or have schnitzel so off to McDonalds we go.

We have not been to the McDonalds in France as of yet not being on that side of Germany. Typically only stop there when traveling. They are putting a new one right outside the main gate here in Graf. Should clean up since there is nothing else close around here.

I was thinking about this one when I read about the remodeled MCd's.
Been they're a couple times while coming back up to Ohio. I remember the first time I saw it - wasn't quite sure what I was walking into but, its certainly a refreshing change from your typical Mc building.
